..to your question, even though I am a Toyota and Lexus lover (I love the combination of durability with the kind of aesthetics Toyota and Lexus offers) I will advise you to forget about that brand expecially if you are a tall person. I have always felt that particular brand is overpriced and over valued. You should look for another Lexus brand if you really want a Lexus... Toyota did not bring their durability insignia into the IS 250 at all... You don't wanna be in the slightest accident with that car.

Hello guys, I’m in the market for a 2008 Lexus Is 250 as a first car but I’m a bit worried because I’m a little taller than most so I’m worried how well I’ll fit in the car. All suggestions are welcome

That you guys after buying a crash damaged car and fixing it poorly, yet you guys think this compact sedan is a NASCAR race car and that you think all roads you guys ply on is a race circuit, doesn’t make it unsafe. It’s a very safe compact sport sedan. Stop racing at break neck speeds on public roads.


Pls find verifiable facts and data from crash test for this car.

I wouldn't touch a Lexus car with a long pole, but real life tests has shown that car to be unreliable accident wise.

I think someone really needs to explain this.
An average Nigerian is an inexperienced driver when it comes to powerful cars & Rear wheel drive cars. Most people are used to Camry and the likes with fwd 4 cylinder less than 170hp or at most the v6 versions with 250hp, fwd has more traction to an extent and your steering wheel is able to direct the traction since it Carry’s the engines torque (Fwd).
Now people are getting to like the Lexus and buying them with no experience, Gs350 , is250 , is350 some of them up to 310horse power to only the Rear wheels, with a light weight vehicle. Now these cars need some sense in acceleration else you’ll turn a 360 or hit the nearest road side kiosk or gutter, down shifting this car without caution on a sandy road or a bend will cause a crash . Don’t forget most Lexus in Nigeria are poorly maintained with abs and vsc lights displaying on the dash (no traction control), all these are recipes for disasters.
Some Buying winter tokunbo tyres and expired tires etc, Many drive drunk too, all these cars being in the wrong hands is the issue.
Power is nothing without control. Many don’t know how to counter steer or save themselves when this car looses control. Once you’re out of traction in a rwd, you will watch your self crashing in slow motion without being able to do anything about it

Assuming cars like mustang and dodge chargers are easily accessible many of this cars would be in collisions daily .
