RENUNCIATION OF NIGERIAN CITIZENSHIP
PROCESSING OF APPLICATIONS FOR RENUNCIATION

IMPORTANT NOTICE: It is required that the letter from Immigratie Naturalisatie Dienst (IND) is officially translated into English. And both the copy translated into English and the original Dutch letter from IND must be submitted at the Embassy along with other requirements.

PROCEDURE FOR RENUNCIATION OF NIGERIAN CITIZENSHIP IS AS FOLLOWS:

SUBMISSION OF FORMAL APPLICATION TO THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR;
OBTAIN THE PRESCRIBED APPLICATION FORM OR RENUNCIATION CITIZENSHIP (FORM G) FROM THE MINISTRY OR ONLINE BY VISITING https://ecitibiz.interior.gov.ng/ AND ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS LISTED BELOW FOR THE PROCESSING OF THE APPLICATION:
FORMAL APPLICATION FOR RENUNCIATION;
PAYMENT OF PROCESSING FEE OF ₦250,000.00 ONLY (GENERATE RRR ONLINE);
BIRTH CERTIFICATE
LOCAL GOVERNMENT/STATE IDENTIFICATION LETTER;
TWO (2) PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPHS;
SWORN OATH OF RENUNCIATION BY HIGH COURT OR MAGISTRATE COURT;
SCANNED COPY OF THE APPLICANT’S NIGERIAN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT;
A LETTER FROM THE COUNTRY WHOSE CITIZENSHIP IS BEING SOUGHT COMMA AFFIRMING THAT THE APPLICANT WILL BE GIVEN CITIZENSHIP UPON RENUNCIATION OF NIGERIAN CITIZENSHIP; AND
PAYMENT OF €150.00 AT THE EMBASSY UPON APPROVAL OF REQUEST
Applications for Renunciation of Citizenship can only be submitted from 10:00 to 16:00 by first scheduling an appointment.

2. Pay ₦20K processing fee
3. Birth certificate
4. LGA/State indigeneship letter
5. 2 Passport photos
6. Renunciation sworn oath
7. Copy of International passport
8. A letter from new country
9. Pay ₦50K on approval
