If you want to know how a state in Nigeria is performing with respect to growth, education, income, flow of money and overall quality of life in that state, GDP will give you vague impressions. HDI is the perfect indices to follow. This is because GDP does not factor money made from various commercial activities that can promote flow of cash, especially when it has to do with sales of imported products which is kind of what drives some states in this country. GDP cannot totally give a clear picture of the quality of life in that state and the volume of finished product and services (whether imported or produced) in that state. The Human Development Index (HDI) is a statistic composite index of life expectancy, education (mean years of schooling completed and expected years of schooling upon entering the education system), and per capita income indicators, which is used to rank countries into four tiers of human development. A state scores a higher level of HDI when the lifespan is higher, the education level is higher, and the gross national income GNI (PPP) per capita is higher. Gross national income (GNI) is defined as gross domestic product, plus net receipts from abroad of compensation of employees, property income and net taxes less subsidies on production. This gives a clear indication as to how much people in that state earn, the cash flow in that state and how robust the economic activity in that state is. Going by these indicators these are the top 10 most economic sufficient states in accordance with quality of life in Nigeria. Because they are the states with the highest HDI in that particular order. 1 Lagos 2 Ogun 3 Anambra 4. Delta 5. Bayelsa 6. Rivers 7. Imo 8. Federal Capital Territory 9. Abia 10. Enugu |

Oyo, Kaduna and Kano should be on that list. Imo, Bayelsa, and Enugu have no place on that list because they have no opportunities. Those states are mostly for spending money and relaxation. |

spearman:The brain of an average smoker . I cannot go to Ogun unless the capital because of ritual influx . But I think Osun is the best place right now to become rich that's if you are hard working and serious. Things in Osun state are very cheap even more than Lagos which is still a mystery to me . And the people are friendly |

SmartPolician:what business do people do in Oyo and Kaduna? |
| Re: The Best States To Live And Make Money In Nigeria. by FatherOfJesus(op): 9:13am On Mar 27, 2023 |
SmartPolician:nope, they won't make the list if you consider income per capita and level of education. The income in Enugu and Bayelsa visavis Kano and Kaduna on per capita basis is higher. It's why I inferred that GDP gives vague impression on the quality of life in a state and the overall well-being of citizens. For example, Nigeria is the biggest economy in terms of GDP but Nigeria is not economically healthier than Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa, Namibia, Ghana or even Cameroon. You will find more opportunities in these countries than in Nigeria. Looking at general nation income GNI on per capita basis, all these countries have better economy than Nigeria. The quality of life in these countries is better than what you have in Nigeria. The quality of life in Imo, Bayelsa and Enugu is far better than in Kaduna and Kano. Although on this list, Oyo is number 11 |
