Depending on the specialty, your spouse can be called to the hospital at 2pm in the morning for an emergency.

And yes, he or she comes home and is tired, and upset, and stressed.

This isn't different from bankers who have to work until 10pm on weekdays and also get called in on weekends. Na make everyone choose their poison

African children don't usually follow in their father's footstep. Always in a hurry to create their own, which is not bad. But a lot of experience could be passed from father to child if they had ventured in their parents profession.

You're confusing business with job.

Fathers can easily mentor & handover their businesses to their offspring(s), not a job.

That being said, what if the child(ren) excel more at other jobs, they should leave it & pick up their father's job that they might even know next to nothing about huh
