Tinubu's Victory Is An Unpopular Victory, But It Is Victory Nonetheless by Tzar(op): 12:08pm On Mar 30, 2023
Of the 93million registered voters, and 83million PVC collection, only24,025,940 votes were cast. This is ONLY 27.55 per cent of the eligible voters.
Tinubu became president with 8.7million votes. This is ONLY about 10% of the total eligible voters. The main opposition jointly got about 13million votes.
Therefore, Tinubu didn't get the popular votes. That's why it looks like the noise of the opposition is loud and justifiable, It is not!
Tinubu is sure of over 13million strong opposition to his win and almost 60million undecided opposition. THIS STILL DOES NOT DELEGITIMIZE HIS WIN! As long as no fraud was done.
The numbers confirm an unpopular victory, but it is victory nonetheless.

But...FRAUD WAS DONE!

So... The right thing should be done.

If he won...fair and square. And the tribunal ratifies it, Congratulations to the man. However , if rules were broken, well then, the law should take it's course.

It's as simple as that. Nothing to argue over.

Whether fraud was done or not isn't supposed to be decided on social media or in the beer palours either.
The matter is in court and we should allow the legal redress run as it should.
The noise being made by opposition to shape public opinion and distort reality is not only manipulative, it is also vile.
Anyone who alleges fraud must prove it.

By your own calculations then it is safe to say
Opposition to Atiku's presidency was about 15 million voters while opposition to Peter Obi's presidency was also 16 million voters.

If the populace can not bare their anger, for fraudulent Election, then it's good to form Interim Government, so that those who don't like such idea will prepare for counter government.. Period

I don't agree. There's hardly any notable court case that there's no massive social media commentary. These are the perks of democracy. You can't pick and chose democratic acts at will.

The interim government is a ploy to dodge the tribunal given its international publicity.

Now they're starting to understand why Biden hasn't congratulated Tinubu yet.

You are so quick to tag the opposition.

Why not keep the conversation objective?

Besides, if you knew the emphasised (bold), it means your post (this thread) is useless and indeed pointless.

Stop trying to be smart by half.

If Tinubu won fair and square, APC would not be worried and the man himself wouldn't be dodging petitions and subpoenas.

Last last, the court will decide.

Peace.

Please get your points right. Apart from GEJ's loss to GMB, there has NEVER been an uncontested election in Nigeria. There has been no election winner in Nigeria that just sits pretty on a victory without having to fight for it to be sustained.
In Nigeria's democratic history electoral losers have proven to be sore losers over and over again. This election is not any different.

The current legal records with INEC says he won. Until the courts confirm a different figure and winner (which I doubt will happen), I think you may be delusional to think otherwise.

To start with, I voted for Tinubu and support his win. You need to use your education more, otherwise you will send the wrong message about your intelligence.
How is 8.7 out of 24million a popular vote? Based on the figure of those who voted, You need to win at least 12million votes for it to be seen as a popular vote.
