Although, the dead doesn't have any feelings and doesn't know anything going on around the environment. However, that casket no get level sha.

He would have opened up to his inlaws and seek for support from them, I'm sure they too would have made some monetary contributions to get something befitting.

All those condemning the action of the family will do worse and will never accept such casket be used to bury their own mother.

i served in vandeikya in 2015 and it was not funny at all virtually any direction you turn to nah coffin shop. infact if you learn furniture work without you knowing how to make coffin your apprenticeship is just a waste of time and hardly would a week pass without you seeing one wake keep program or the other whether old or young!

The in-law should buy a royal casket for the family. The person to be buried deserves the same treatment as Queen Elizabeth. 😏😏😏
...if they do not have money to buy a royal coffin nko. Would they have to steal money to buy it,. that is what they can afford to buy they cannot kill themselves

Benue people
One set of annoying people

Repeating one same Apc that is tormenting them with herdsmen and bandit

Sorry if there is any Benue person on nairaland

I think Benue people are sick

I feel it's sickening to refer to an entire state and tribe as sick. But data is cheap, so it's fine.

The politics of Benue is a peculiar one. Independent candidacy is not permitted under the Nigerian law and the Rev fr is the people's choice and must contest under a platform to which, LP and PDP were taken. APC won cos of Alia and not because the people support APC full chested

No one is talking about the dead's journey to the great beyond.? After death, its judgment. Where do you want to spend eternity brother?
Re: Benue Family Rejects Coffin Man Brought For In-Law's Burial by jnig: 6:04am On Mar 31, 2023
"THRASH" that's unfortunate. Acting rich does not make a man rich. Claiming standards in cultural or traditional burial rites is absolutely strange and a fake life. At what point did burying people inside a coffin become an African traditional burial rite? HOW MANY ANCESTORS WERE BURIED IN A COFFIN? It's funny but if the ancient ancestors were buried without coffins, whosoever is buried inside this one may receive a chieftancy title on arrival. As for modern ancestors, I wonder when they started calling the shots and setting the standards in the great beyond. If however, they were able to change the standards the original ancestors set for the Tiv people, then thus man has every right to stick to his decision of giving what he can afford. After all, even the last retired pope was buried in what looks like this one.

Certainly, the Tiv customs have a template which the man followed but such a public display is unfortunate. As for you, wey know standards, feel free to start a bonanza of caskets. In the village the man mentioned, such a casket is not an abnormality. Claiming levels during burials is one unfortunate thing Africans need deliverance from.

Babapyro:

No white person will demean themselves by burying a family in this thrash, stop saying what you don't know, there are standards all around the world

Useless people, as if the dead woman will come back to life if buried in gold casket.
I don't know when Tiv people will do away with this useless tradition.
Reason i took woman far from there.

Very useless people with useless traditions.
The only good thing in Benue is food.

The coffin is the last respect paid to the deceased. I don’t think the son in-law will allow his mother to be buried in this type of coffin. Yes it’s something to be put in the ground but what is worth doing is worth doing fine.

What the son-in-law would’ve done is to provide the family with the equivalent funds and allow the family to either add money to do the needful.
Re: Benue Family Rejects Coffin Man Brought For In-Law's Burial by Nobody: 3:25pm On Mar 31, 2023
When the deceased was suffering and only needed pocket money to cope, they never asked the inlaws to provide, they re crying fouls because they just want to exploit the inlaws.

They should buy their own coffin if they hate it, but the coffin hash, looks like a local canoe.

Coffins are quite expensive, if he has the funds he should buy, but I detest the attitude Christians have towards their dead, they only spend money when its time for burial, not because they care about the deceased but because they are concerned about their so called status.

. So because he has to impress his in-laws so he must go and steal. money or go into criminal activities inorder to buy an expensive cofifn when he does not actually have money to buy an expensive coffin .. that is why they are many families still oweing debts till now.and the creditor disturbing or threatening them to pay back the money they borrowed them for the expensive burial ....there are situations in a family because of the pressure of doing an expensive burial the first son of the family will have to go into illegal activities...fraud, kidnapping, crime, inorder to get money to bury his father or mother in an expensive burial way m .when he does not actually have money to bury them expensively

You speak as if you be not witnessed a Nigerian burial from the south, it's all about money and prestige, the corpse doesn't matter.

..I know that Southerners and Christians like to organize expensive burials ....so if the person or family does not have money to do an expensive burial..then what do you want him or the family to do ?... that is my question
