How many Christian girls do you see writing exam in a Mosque? That's the real comparison
None...you know why?

A mosque is not a Cbt centre

Nobody writes Jamb inside Mosque

We need to understand something very important...

No Muslim will go to covenant for schooling, they were there to write jamb mock and when jamb place people to centres, they do it randomly... nobody have the time to check religion before placing you in covenant.

Christians will definitely write in Muslim owned centres and imagine the outrage when they stop people from writing exams because they they're NOT putting on hijabs
I did not read the article. My response was premised on the fact that a Muslim parent sued the school some years back for discrimination. I assumed it was a similar case. My bad

If we reverse this case, the blame will be on the lady but you see them blaming the school 🤣
How can you come to my house and not do my bidding
It's not even about bidding.

She went to a place of worship and told them she wants to worship a different God there....

If you went there to write your exam, write your exam and get out. If you insist on practicing your own religion as well as writing your exam, then there's a serious problem.

OK, tell the hijabi to open a Mosque CBT centre to help her fellow oppressed.

Or tell her to just stay in ile keu.

Why is jamb taking admission seekers irrespective of their religion to religious ground to write exams?

That’s the first thing.

Jamb and Waec are fond of doing this and it’s not the first time it’s causing issues. Very simple thing to stop without causing any religious problem. Just stop accepting these religious ground as exam centers. Finish.

I’m not the one that brought the newspaper headline here to push a certain agenda.

I’m only asking you and the others to tell us how the 52 in that headline implies Tinubu age.

It’s a simple sturv

Covenant doesn't advertise as a non-sectarian school though.

For me, the concept is very simple. Covenant University is in Canaanland Ota, on the premises of one of the biggest Church auditoriums in the world.

The owners of the premises have as much right to practice their religion as the Hijabi has to practice hers.

Why should a Hijabi go to a Church and insist on practicing her own religion there? That's the height of religious intolerance.
I know Covenant University is a faith-based school and I have already addressed the fact that any Muslim seeking admission should know what to expect of adhering to the school rules and regulations, but this issue is different entirely from the scenario you're painting the students were posted to the CBT center by JAMB; so tell me how is it the fault of the students? They should inform JAMB that they will only allow students who are of Christian faith to use their center so that the Muslims wont be subjected to this yearly embarrassment and humiliation for something that's not their doing.

You're not understanding...Jamb will not approve a Church or a Mosque as CBT centre.

Covenant was presented as a school not a church... Living faith is the church

And if they claim covenant as a Church too... then Jamb should look into this and probably revoke their lincense

Have you been to covenant University before?

Do you know the lay of the land?

You literally have to drive a couple miles through Church premises to get to their academic buildings

Bro as far as I'm concerned, if she was there to write exams and not looked for trouble, she would have removed the hijab.

Ansarudeen school is up the road from CU in that same Ota. She should have gone there.

JAMB will approve a shrine as long it has the CBT gadgets.

It is Covenant or the Mosque that equipped it themselves. JAMB did not give them 1 naira to buy those computers

So telling JAMB or WAEC to select where they use for CBTs is just trying to frustrate the process. There are not much around.

Did JAMB post the hijab to the CBT centre?

This is just clutching at straws. If tbe girl had turned up in a Bikini and got turned away, would you be asking JAMB not to send swimmers to Covenant for exam?

What does your religion have to do with JAMB?

Why should JAMB care which religion you are when you write exams?

Why is it JAMB that should have basic decency and religious tolerance instead of the Hijabi going to a Church?

If its in a Mosque, my options are to reschedule or comply.

Are you saying that the hijabi only found out on the day of the exam that she was posted to Covenant?

Are you saying that JAMB doesn't offer any options to reschedule or pick another centre?

Everywhere has rules bro.

JAMB is an exam, irrespective of your religion or beliefs.

If the school does not accept Hijabi, the onus is on the student to know what is more important; Her exam or Social media noise.

Like i said, I can bet that other Muslim girls wrote that exam and went home.

You just made my point grin

Jamb don't care about religion, so should their centres

An hijab wearing, red clothe tieing candidate should be allowed to write exams.

I followed this debate and this doesn't make sense. Covenant is a "school" CBT centre not a "church" CBT centre. I think this just falls on jamb to either delist religion controlled schools for jamb centres or start considering a jamb candidate's religious beliefs when choosing a centre

The article literally said some girls took the hijab off and were allowed in to write their exam.

They didn't say they don't permit Muslims. I happen to know Fuad Atanda Lawal for example, a practicing Muslim and current LGA chairman for Ikoyi/Obalende is a Covenant Graduate.

What the school said is we don't want Hijab. Same way I'm sure they would have sent Cossy Ijiakor back If she had turned up in a Bikini.

This is a non-starter abeg.

it's even in the news report; only the said girl ad two others didn't remove their hijab to write the exams. The other muslims removed their hijabs and wrote the mock exam.

The major issue here is that JAMB did not equip these CBT centers but posted people who paid to JAMB there to write exams. Yet JAMB expects these institutions to relax their rules/regulations/conducts to allow students who would not comply with the institution's rules to write exam in their premises. The thing dey somehow.

I think the only way out is for JAMB to not use these faith-based institutions for such exams going forward.

You are going to far

Some Christian ladies do not wear trousers but i have never seen NYSC bend that rule.

If you don't want to wear trousers, go home.

So maybe we should ask NYSC to be more religious tolerant? Pffttt

If you go to a Muslim CBT and you're asked to cover your hair before your write, cover it or go home.

Like Nihilistjnr asked, did she just see CU as her centre on that day? I'm sure you know the answer
