Answer the question bros.

Should a CBT centre be able to turn around this chic if she came to write Jamb in this outfit, yes or no?

If you're in their premises, just obey their rules. Write your exams and use the hijab after leaving the center, which is inside the church premises.

No need to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Wasting time and resources on trivial issues like religion.

Nigerians go get sense one day sha.

The article literally said some girls took the hijab off and were allowed in to write their exam.

They didn't say they don't permit Muslims. I happen to know Fuad Atanda Lawal for example, a practicing Muslim and current LGA chairman for Ikoyi/Obalende is a Covenant Graduate.

What the school said is we don't want Hijab. Same way I'm sure they would have sent Cossy Ijiakor back If she had turned up in a Bikini.

This is a non-starter abeg.
It's actually ojiakor cool cool
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by monerozi5590: 8:42am On Mar 31, 2023
Maybe they have another reason but I see no issue here. Hijab is just a dressing to show modesty. Some cover their hair and shoulder alone, some cover down to their knees. Some even touching the ground.

Similar to what nuns wear. To show modesty.

Why should they not be allowed to show whatever part of their body they want at a CBT center?

Does JAMB stipulate that a student can't write exam in a cleavage revealing outfit?

Or are you suggesting that CBT centres have the right to enforce dress codes at their venues?
Wahala. 😄

Were you not the one few days back talking about Culture and all that, how without culture you are nobody. Now you want people to drop their beliefs and way of life because it's trivial and waste of time. Nice one 👍

Lolz . Tell that to unilag that prevents u from driving around the campus as ur like on convocation ceremony day when ur ward is convoking cheesy.

U will be advised to park ur car in designated car parks while either trekking to the convocation ground with cooler of rice in ur head or join thousands of people waiting to use the fee BRT buses that are provided for commuting .

These things dey happen , na because we are extremely religious (but ungodly) people, na why we dey always give these things much spotlight when religion is involved
How is this the same thing with this jamb issue ehn. This is apple and oranges comparison.

In the Uni I attended, you cannot enter into the school gate as a student while wearing a flip flop or a palm slippers. If you do, you will be sent back home or detained by security. You have to always dress corporately.

But non students can wear whatever they want and they won’t be sent back by security or detained. Even during post utme, you can wear whatever you want to wear without issues.

The students didn’t chose the school in the first place, the school was assigned to them by jamb. I can’t remember correctly but when filing jamb for, you are always asked your religion was. If Jamb knew those religion affiliated schools has certain rule that you must dressed like them before they can allow you into the center to write exam, then they should assign people to center based on their faiths.

Problem solved.

Must be another reason because it can’t definitely be because of hijab that simply for head covering.

U boldly said u cannot enforce ur rules against those who are not directly under u and all I did was tell u that’s not true . Universities enforce their own rules against people who are not directly under them the moment they step on campus ….. I have witnessed it several times when university security lock visitors’ car tyres
for not knowing where to park and no security on site to direct them.

These things dey happen , na religion dey make people carry these things for head .

As a 16-19 year old writing UTME/ MOCK UTME I wouldn’t even be thinking of calling my popsy that they didn’t allow me write exam in a faith based institution cos I no wan commot hijab. Na to write the exam and go back to my safe zone ( my papa house ) go dey my head Abeg !

If it is a lie then it was the person who said so that lie. No way Rivers is safer than Kogi (even though Kogi means river in Hausa).
Rivers is safer than Kogi, trust me. Those boys would rob but won't kidnap. The kidnappings in Rivers are comparatively low compared to other places, safe for Akwa Ibom and SOME SW states.

Kogi is the headquarters of highway kidnappings. So bad, you'd wish you were just robbed and let off. But, no, it's ransom time. That's not the case in Rivers for all of the descriptions I have given of it.

What s unarguable is Rivers' gang culture where every 3 of 5 teenage boys are already using gang slangs and/or posturing as gangsters. This is the part the Rivers defenders do not want to accept even though it's starring them hard in the face.

So what's your point?

If you agree thar CBT centre has the right to send anybody home based on their dress code, then why are you complaining?

Is wearing hijab an African culture?

I guess Nigeria has become an Arab nation.

They'd be wearing hijab all about but wetin dey their mind for their fellow humans no good.

Hijab is part of the traditions of the Arabs but you can keep promoting their culture while demonizing yours.

It could be his WAEC seat number.

It could be the number of ”tamar“ he can do with both feet consecutively.

It could be anything Idolo.

Your point is well illustrated.
It could also be his number of concubines grin

I think covering the head with a scarf is okay for Muslim students in that kind of situation.

A Muslim should respect the rules of the church premises when using their facilities.

You know covenant won't allow you into their compound with the hijab, why not choose another city to write your exam, last time I checked jamb have a preferred exam city or something like that. Choose an exam city you won't have to take off your hijab ,simples.

Same people that were saying visitors and National teams should obey Qatar LGTBQhhdkd rules are now saying covenant should relax there rules since it's jamb that brought the students there, why didn't you ask Qatar to relax there rules since it's FIFA that brought the national teams there.?

Hijab is an Islam culture and any one practicing Islam is under that culture be it African, American, European or Asian. You were the one talking about holding on to culture few days back yet here you are here showing your hypocrisy telling people to drop their culture, calling it trivial and meaningless. When donjazet called African culture meaningless few days back you were jumping around like a fowl on heat like you really cared about culture.

The bad blood is much.

Religion width is getting wider
Islamophobia.

I think the headline is misleading and wants to portray the action as fighting against Muslims. Even Muslims will not permit some kind of dressing in their centres.

However, I think people should be allowed to express themselves but in ways that will not mean taking advantage. For example, hijab can be used by unscrupulous people to smuggle 'expo' into the hall. So while they can wear hijab, they should not wear anything that will not allow for inspection.

I beg to differ. I was seduced repeatedly by those babes in NYSC trousers. If I was still in school my GPA would have dropped.
