Use a scarf to cover your head; write your exam; and go back home in peace and practise your religious extremism. Simple stuff.

But dey wan dress like egun (masquerade) when writing an exam. Allowing this sort of dressing in exam halls facilitates what we used to call gbe egun wole (cheating) as students.

From Agbara down to Atan, then down to Ota, to Oju-ore, na only Bells and CU, few others, and maybe Crawford fit serve that population.

Maybe they think JAMB is ignorant for begging religious fanatics to conduct CBT.

Do you know the crowd in CBT centres? They go in batch by batch because the systems are not sufficient. Then you are asking JAMB to blacklist a centre because 2 girls refused to remove Hijab

Make him go build centre, put 100 computers there because e no wan discrimination
BlueRayDick:
There are just 37 instituations approved by JAMB for CBT exams in the whole of Ogun state. The Idi Iroko/Ota axis have have just two that are approved by JAMB for reasons best known to them. Off the top of ur head, Which other institution do u think will replace CU if JAMB decides to let them go cos some applicants will not comply with CU's on-campus rules?
you may not realise it, but this is how it starts

its easy now becasue a lot of people have a visceral dislike of hijabis

so if tomorrow CU after winning this battle in the court of public opinion, decides to go all out and refuse to allow anyone not conforming to their dress code into their CBT hall?

if other jamb centers in other parts of the nation also decide that we are so important and critical to this exercise that we will also impose our own arbitrary rules, what then?

sorry, no girls with trousers, sorry no boys with tshirt, no girls with permed hair. no guys wearing basketball shoes

if blueray was running jamb center he would say no one is allowed without a blue item of clothing. izzou would say no one enters without gold circle. my center is the only center in this area. you don't like it go home.

Other Muslim girls wrote and went home.
So they should go against their own religious tenet because CU want them to? All this plenty talk on this matter is really not necessary, Jamb shoud simply delist CTB centres that cannot adjust their rules for just a day. CU CTB center like every other CTB centres are benefitting from the exam, so they should be able to bend their rules for a day....

Are we not supposed to be the most enlightened and educated of the crop of Nigerians??

How on earth are we defending bigotry and discrimination based on faith??

JAMB did not go and beg covenant to use their centre for exam, covenant applied to JAMB to do so and it was approved. Perhaps where I blame jamb here is not making sure all it's centres understand the guidelines and ground rules to being a host for an external exam..

And people are defending this nonsense because they're looking at it as a Muslim issue or non-muslim issue but this is a human rights issue.

Now let's expand the scope here, let's take this to its logical extreme, first there are very many churches who have schools in their compounds. Don't forget this is a secondary school exam of which they're thousands of schools across the country. There are churches that don't accept trousers, churches that don't allow men to overgrow their hair, churches that don't allow make-up, churches that don't allow hair extensions and attachments.
Imagine being posted to a school for an external exam of 2 hours and you're told to go and barb your hair as a man, or for ladies to remake their hair, as attachments are not allowed, some churches even forbid high heels shoes. I know that covenant, Gregory and Madonna University forbid women wearing high heels shoes.

Are these what we will accept because we want to write an exam?? Do you really believe that everyone must know the peculiar rules of the exam centre to which they've been sent? Isn't it the jamb rules that just concern students?

We keep enabling and defending bigotry and discrimination until it gets to us.

What is bad is bad!! And yes, this is why discrimination is bad everywhere. Many of you that supported the discrimination of LGBTs in Qatar are now speaking against discrimination of Muslims here. It's good you can now see whydiscrimination of any group is bad! Discrimination distorts unity.
Please name them.

For I do not have anything against hijab and those who wear them; In fact I admire the decency of those who wear it.

That being said, I believe people should comply with rules/regulations/code of conducts prevalent in whatever community they find themselves. I stayed in NYSC camp for 3 good weeks and I was denied alcohol which other coursemates of mine who served in non-sharia state had access to in their respective mammy market. I no talk say I go fight camp commandant or state coordinator for denying us alcohol simply we were in a sharia state. I endured my 3 weeks and the day I left camp I sorted myself.

I don't see any reason why those students would not just do what they need to do and get their exams done with. Personally I believe they will learn some life lessons as time goes by.

Is wearing hijab an African culture?

I guess Nigeria has become an Arab nation.

They'd be wearing hijab all about but wetin dey their mind for their fellow humans no good.

Hijab is part of the traditions of the Arabs but you can keep promoting their culture while demonizing yours.

Africans go get sense one day.
Culturally African women tie wrapper on their chest

If you show up at CU premises dressed like this should you be allowed

Culturally no African woman goes outside their house/neighborhood tying wrapper round their chest. Even Fulani women/Niger women who sell those herbs around Lagos as far back as the late 90's early 2000's do not tie ordinary wrapper around their chest to hawk their herbs

Supreme Court rules for all of Nigeria, interpretation of the constitution. Lagos was simply the state challenging

The lady in question is Hijab right? I'm not abreast of the detail of the story but you guys have been talking hijab since
Lagos State was challenging the ruling on Lagos State Government schools which have different public obligations to private institutions

The issue of Niqab is me challenging your position that freedom of Islamic dressing is allowed in any school by pointing out there is already a limit to what you can or cannot wear to exams even as a Muslim, which means that right to wear hijab is not inviolable.

Maybe we should all also be dressing to write exam in White Garment gown, sash and beret.

Catholics should be wearing dog collar tunic and Pope hat to write WAEC.

Members of the Lords Chosen should be wearing their bulletproof vest to NECO Hall.

Isese adherents should be dressing up like Fadeyi Oloro to write mock exam.

Queen of the Coast worshippers should be wearing Bikini and caps made from Sardine Cans to write common entrance exam.

The major problem of DeSantis was how to win the Republican nomination against Trump, how can he attack Trump without alienating many Republican voters. Now the Democrats have helped him to eliminate the Trump problem. DeSantis will now campaign hard saying Trump was victimized to get those voters

That's for Supreme Court to decide. The Supreme Court ruling referenced Hijab which IMO is no different from headtie. Even messef get problem with Niqab. We leave that to the Supreme Court.

Considering the fact that jamb is held in every state across the nation, I don't think there is a scarcity of centers with computers. There are also multiple other private institutions in Ogun state with computer infrastructure.

This we are Convenant and we have are the only institution in Ogun state with computer hardware and therefore we get to play cantankerous diva won't fly imho.
Bro, the Bells university almost directly opposite CU is also a CBT centre.

There's actually quite a few in Ota.

Trust me, CU providing CBT facilities is merely community service. How much do you think JAMB could possibly pay them to break even let alone generate a profit on that facility.

I don't think you know much about how that university and the whole Canaanland town is actually funded
