Turkey had delayed Finland's bid to join the West's defensive alliance for months - complaining the Nordic nation was supporting "terrorists".

Sweden, which applied to join Nato at the same time last year, is still being blocked by Ankara over similar complaints.

Any Nato expansion needs the support of all its members.

Finland will now be formally admitted into Nato at its next summit, taking place in July in Lithuania.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave his approval to Finland's bid earlier in March, praising the country's "authentic and concrete steps" on Turkish security.

But his ongoing hostility to Sweden was clear - as he again accused the country of embracing Kurdish militants and allowing them to demonstrate on the streets of Stockholm.

The two Nordic nations abandoned their traditional military neutrality in response to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The war didn't start in 2022. Ukraine brought it upon themselves when they started looking Pro Russians in the donbass region. Finland is not going that so Russia has no reason for any military operation there.

There is a difference between a conventional warefare where the lives of the civilians is of utmost priority, cos u went it there in the first place to stop the enemy from killing them, and that’s what Russia is doing. Western art of warfare is to destroy and burn anything in their path. Civilian lives doesn’t matter , they go in bomb 💣 💣 and then runs off, without achieving their initial goals. Do a google search (if they haven’t removed or reduced the nos) of how many civilians died in the us/nato invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam. It’s counted in millions. Just imagine that. They were striking wedding parties and birthday events in Afghanistan. in Vietnam they used the napalm spray chemical that kills and infects an entire village, the few that survived ends up with long term defects which they are still suffering till date. We all watched how they struck a house killing 7 kids during their humiliating chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal. ICC judges turned the other way.
