There are very few wise people in that area and Chimaroke is one of the few.

I think the issue is they don't have a clear and respected political leader(s) that can give them direction as a nation.

My observation is that the south east always missed the political calculus and permutations.

In 1993, the North and 60% of South voted MKO Abiola SDP but my eastern brothers voted Tofa NRC who MKO Abiola SDP whipped mercilessly like a kid in his home state Kano and the North. They missed it.

2015, we warned them, they failed to hear. In 2019, the same thing happened. 2023, they said Obi-dient.

Honestly speaking, I don't blame them for voting Obi. It's a natural thing to do more so when a nation like Igbo have been denied presidency since the end of the war.

But presidency required having others to trust you and believe in you. It involves extending handshake across the nooks and crannies of the Federation which Obi lacked. That's how to get there and it's not a 7 months' job. It takes years of trust.
