On the 24th of March, 1999, the news of the death of retired Major-General Babatunde Abdulbaki Idiagbon rocked the nation. The man who was once the de facto vice president of Nigeria under the military government of Major General Muhammadu Buhari was dead.

He was only 56 years old.

Idiagbon died under very suspicious circumstances with many controversies surrounding his death.
