I may invite an artisan to lagos all the way from Abuja without sending him a dime for transportation. If eventually I didn't give him the job I will surely compensate him for his money, time and all.

Some had already thrown humanity away.
Some partly due to previous bad experience and some actually never had any humanity in them but the fact remains that the person you refuse to give your job to due to request for transportation fare will not die and will definitely do much more than yours that you think is a mega deal and that's even if they haven't done more than it already.
No one comes to any site I'm working on and not get tfare from me even if the client sent them in.
This just shows how human we are. Everyone is free to do what suits n work for them but need not throw it to the face of others.

Nah I do not agree with you, I as a roofer do not need to come to your site to give you a quote. I might have a standard price per square meter if I don't, I can use your roof plan or your building plan to estimate the job and give you a quote. I can also give you a quote from a foto you sent to me next phase is quantity of materials once we agree I move to site once I get empowered.
Also with windows, doors.
It could also be said as a mater of fact that the Contractor/Engineer or the supervisor will already have a team he/she uses most times.
Mind you I'm talking from a clients perspective. Asking someone to come from a long way to your site to give a quote and ending up not paying them for the day and giving them just T fare is evil. cos thats a whole day wasted.
