Moment Of Pride As Brilliant kogi, Ebira Children Clinch All Prizes At National Mathematicians Competition In Kano

It's another beautiful moment as outstanding brilliant Kogi pupils grab six (6) GOLD Medals out of seven (7), two (2) SILVER Medals out of Five (5) in the just concluded 20th Edition of the Annual National Mathematics Competition organized by the Nigerian Tulip International College in collaboration with National Mathematical Center in Kano.

The award ceremony which took place from 5th - 6th of April, 2023 in Nigeria Tulip International College, Kano saw Sanni Onize Faiza of the renowned LGEA Demonstration Standard Nursery and Primary School, Onyukoko, Okene grab the overall 1st position.

The Brilliant Children from same school in Okene didn't give other pupils space as they went all out for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th position.

Let’s celebrate them” congratulations champs.👏❤️
Disstroy take your wards to LGEA Demonstration School, Okene so that they will be earning medals in mathematics almost every year.

Lols, all these shallow Nl arguments. I think without the goals, Messi is just another Ahmed Musa.

Nairaland arguments na comic relief. What made WS win the nobel prize in the first place if not for his works in literature that you said would long have quietly slipped into obscurity?

Those silly obidients just dey waste their time castigating WS on social media.

He has successfully written his name on the sands of time. No amount of social media noise will erase that.

Everyone doesn't have to support your candidate.

When all the social media noises die down, Soyinka will still be the first winner of nobel prize in literature in Africa, a recipient of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) award, among other prestigious awards.
I'm not disputing the awards the man won which were well deserved, my point is basically is nobody dey really feel the guy for street as per e writing. Wole Soyinka was largely the guy that we were told "Hey, here's a good writer, this is what we think good writing is, and we're giving him an award for that" , and given it was no other but the Nobel Prize body making the proclamation, we went with it, and so it was.

[color=royalblue]The fact that we can berate any of our two Greats, just to win an argument is worrisome.

So we are now arguing Achebe vs Soyinka?

That name "Soyinka" will live for many centuries after its bearer is long gone, so long this world exists, so long Africa exists.

Ifa was just a man like Soyinka in his time until his great works inspired by Orunmila started making people to refer to him as a god (orisa). Today, the name "Ifa" has lived for thousands of years after its bearer's death and will live for many more centuries to come.

Writing one's name on the sands of time is the dream of every human, and only a tiny majority of humans achieve this great feat.

The fact that we can berate two of our greatest in literary work cause of politics is just too bad cause the two are great in their works, Achebe was a great novelist, Soyinka is a great Playwright..

This is just too bad..

Theflint1:
Chinua Achebe is arguably the most influential writer in Nigeria's history, practically everyone grew up reading and still read Achebe. His stories were not just interesting, they were incredibly funny and descriptive to the point where you felt like you were right in the story, one of those writers that if you picked their work, just know you'd not drop it until you've read it to the very last word. I probably read A Man of the People like 30 times, the funniest book I ever read and my favourite of all his stories.

Wole Soyinka's style is very technical and I'm sure that's why his appeal was never close to Achebe's despite being a fantastic writer. If he never won the Nobel Prize, I believe nobody go really send e book for Naija like that. I sought his books out mainly cause I knew he won the Nobel Prize in Literature for his writings, so naturally assumed they held value...I found them painfully boring though. Abiku was beautiful, read it in SS1 Literature where they compared his version of Abiku to J. P. Clarks'....I preferred Wole Soyinka's Abiku.

Both stars in their own right, but I think without the Nobel Prize, Wole Soyinka's works in literature would have long slipped into obscurity, quietly too. Chinua Achebe didn't need a Nobel Prize or any other award for that matter to forever have his place in our hearts and heads.
Wole Soyinka is much more versatile than Chinua Achebe.

You can regard Chinua Achebe as one-dimensional as his work is generally superficial.

Wole Soyinka on the other hand is so versatile that he has books of different levels of complexity.

If you want a very difficult book, Wole Soyinka has it.

If you want a difficult book, Wole Soyinka has it.

If you want a very simple book, Wole Soyinka has it.

If you want a simple book, Wole Soyinka has it.

Have you heard of The Lion and the Jewel? This play can be regarded as simple, while A Dance of the Forests may be regarded as hard.

Again, if you want a difficult book, Wole Soyinka has it.

If you want a simple book, Wole Soyinka has it because Wole Soyinka is not one-dimensional, while Chinua Achebe is one-dimensional.

The question you should first ask is, how many people on the street read quality literature? Very few.

So, only those in the literary field would mostly appreciate a genius like WS, not your everyday people.

It's the same reason why only science-savvy people appreciate geniuses like Einstein, Newton, Curie, and co.

So, your inability to appreciate these people doesn't make their works of less quality or less laudable.

It's more as a result of your own limitations.

Franch speaking Canadians are extremely snobbish

If you meet them in another country and ask them directions or question in English, they will pretend they can't speak English. I have personal experience of this. I was shocked when I saw the same person later speaking English . That's when someone explained to me that Quebecans will never acknowledge English

If it is easy why are you not outstanding in your own field. People like them are among the 5 or so percent of the world.

People like them will be celebrated even after death. It is so and it will continue to be so.

I've read books from Shakespeare, Victor Hugo, Dostoevsky, Gogol, and Tolstoy, some of which were even translated scripts yet I found their works very interesting despite their writings being complex.

Wole Soyinka's works being complex isn't why I don't find them interesting.

Quotables and Parables from one of Achebe book alone is enough to read and just laugh for 2 hours.

I voted for PO and will do so again. However, I don't follow mobs and don't react emotionally to issues.

The fact that I supported PO, and still support him, doesn't mean I agree with everything other supporters say or their approach to issues.

There are some lines I can never cross while supporting a Nigerian politician.

WS is a highly respected writer who has paid his dues in the fight for democracy in this country, and I feel those people castigating him are merely overreacting and barking the wrong tree.

I've elderly ones at home that criticize PO now and then. That doesn't mean I should start fighting or arguing with them.

Nigerian politicians aren't worth fighting over or for.
