Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, says it will petition President Muhammadu Buhari over the alleged victimisation of Igbos in Lagos state.

According to NAN, the group made its intention known in a communique issued after a council meeting in Enugu on Wednesday.

The leaders of the group said they will send protest letters to the national assembly and other relevant agencies to express their sadness over the alleged attacks on Igbos in Lagos.

The group also said it will set up an emergency line for Igbos in Lagos to report any form of victimisation.

Based on the foregoing, the Council of Elders directed Ohanaeze Ndigbo to set up an Emergency Telephone Line where Igbos in Lagos who are victimized because of their Igbo origin will report,” the communique reads.

The group said it will send a delegation to Lagos to meet with some leaders of the state with a view to establishing a lasting cordial and peaceful relationship between the Igbo and the Yoruba.

Amongst other terms of reference, the report must indicate: the number of Igbos killed, number of Igbos injured and hospitalized, number of Igbos permanently incapacitated,” the communique said.

“The report shall include the comprehensive report of Igbo assets and property destroyed including the burning of markets.”

Lol these Ohaneze elders act like drunk men sometimes.

Hope their imaginary emergency line has been able to find a way to bring the Eze sent to prison out.

We sent the Eze to prison and he will rot there until he get sense and denounce IPOB terrorists openly. In Yorubaland, we don’t pamper terrorists and their sympathizers.

Igbos are the ones victimising others with thier hate speech and abusive language. They showed hatred, before, during and after the general elections. They better retraced their steps. Other people are accommodating and tolerating them, things the Igbos will not allow others do in igbo land, they do it in other places

The Nwafor Heebooes have suddenly become the victim now, where are the warriors, their IPOB, their internet champions, and their tigers?

This gotta be a joke coming from the chest-beating region. grin

It seems to me Ohazzezu or whatever they call themselves are afraid to demand their tribesmen get harmed and defend themselves now. Are they afraid to be picked up by DSS cos typically, the narrative would be something now, Heeeboes should defend themselves So, what has changed, are they afraid now? cheesy

That's very good of them to ensure the safety of their people. #RejectTribalism

First of all, I don't believe this kind of emotional ranting can come from ohaneze. The group is composed of honourable men, they cann't think so low in reverse order in this way. Someone must be faking this writing as in many past cases, it will soon be denounced. I am not sure anybody is victimizing Igbos in Lagos, it is being overblown out of proportion. Igbos should be the one to learn how to humble themselves sometimes to acheive what they want.

Joe igbokwe is able to enjoy benefits from yorubas because he has learnt some good trait/manner of omoluabi concept. You can't be chest beating and making empty noise to disturb peace of your hosts and come back to say they are angry or envious of you. What is there to envy in the first place when your host is known to be leader in education, technology, entertainment, media, politics, foreign affairs and in every good course ? When you get to any part of the world, learn their rules; obey them and remain prosperous or disobey them and languish in jail in regret. Law is simple!

There is absolutely no need of proving supremacy in foreign land because you are not there to compete with people but to engage in lawful business to improve your live. Never go to foreign land with the mindset that you want to possess their land or show you are superior, you may be sowing cloth of future trouble for yourself. So far Igbos are there for businesses because those people make their environment condusive for businesses to thrive, then; look for the progress of your host, learn to support their aspirations, don't show hatred or envy towards them or keep mute, no need to prove to them you know better than them for peaceful coexistence. So far, no Igbo has been killed; only verbal political supremacy. Yorubas are still very good accommodators, Igbos should be the one not to cross their boundaries so it can benefit the two of them

We don't want them to meddle in our local politics ..They are allowed to do their business , live and work peacefully in Lagos state but they should not meddle in our politics.Have you heard the Chinese, Lebanese or Indians meddle in our politics despite their huge investments in Nigeria?

The irony of life, these children of hate always claim that they are being victimized, when in reality, they are the one killing their hosts.

They should set up a line for the UK so Peter Obi can report the victimisation he faced with the detention he suffered by the UK immigration service.
