The Israeli intelligence service Mossad has "denied" in an unprecedented statement that it is behind the last 14 weeks of protests against the government of Benjamin Netanyahu. This was reported in a statement by the Israeli Prime Minister's office.

In the statement, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, on behalf of the Mossad, wrote that US media coverage of the Mossad's role in the Israeli protests is "false and completely unfounded."

The statement notes that the Mossad and its officials did not encourage their employees to take such actions against the government and in general to participate in any political activity and are true to the values that have existed since the establishment of this institution.

The New York Times and The Washington Post on April 8, citing a leaked Pentagon document, wrote that Mossad officials support and encourage protests in Israel against the judicial reform of the government of Benjamin Netanyahu.
