I’m not sure Tinubu’s alleged drug case in the US would hold any water at the tribunal. This is because there is a 10 year period during which individuals are barred from running for political office, if they have a criminal conviction.

So, even if Tinubu was convicted by a U.S. court back in the 90s, the statute of limitations has long expired

if there's a law like this, it's even worse because he somehow made it into elective office 1999.

It's simple really, there were charges against Tinubu, which is what the documents highlights, if Tinubu was found guilty of those charges he would have been indicted and convicted. Instead it led to forfeiture of 460k and the rest of the seized finds were returned to him. This is what Uber facts reported which is factual.
So while the question "why did Tinubu forfeit 460k?" is valid. The question "why did US return the rest?" is equally valid.
In the end, Tinubu wasn't convicted.

If US courts found Tinubu guilty, he wouldn't have gotten away with just partial forfeiture.
Drugs related cases carry serious weight.

You are still not getting it and I’m not in the mood for back and forth really. The same thing Uberfacts are posting is the same thing Hundeyin posted before the election, it’s the same thing that the opposition tried to use against Tinubu in 2000.

If you read the court paper (the settlement paper) these are the established fact.

1. The IRS got a warrant to freeze Tinubu $2m in his 2 accounts with CitiBank and Heritage Bank in 1992 on suspicion of drugs trafficking and money laundering.

2. Tinubu challenged the IRS freeze on the money in his account.

3. In 1993, both the IRS and Tinubu came to a settlement agreement, the IRS released $1.8m to Tinubu and Tinubu forfeit 460k to the govt.

4. Part of the settlement agreement is that Tinubu or his heirs or family can never sue the iRS or it’s agency forever for the forfeiture.

5. Tinubu was never arrested, indicted or even stand trial for drug trafficking.

Those were the fact of the case.
