It's called Visual Storytelling bruh
The Black and white is mostly to portray the tone. The use of black and white is to draw the viewer's eye and aid in the framing of shots is spectacular. It is also underscoring and symbolizing Saul Goodman's journey out of darkness and toward the light 🤭

I said all these in my post

I understand why it was used and the message behind it...but I still think it was a terrible decision

While it's good to pass a message across in creative ways, it becomes a terrible decision when it affects the viewers experience and enjoyment

If you're watching a series in high quality and they decide to turn some episodes into 240p quality in order to pass across a message....would you enjoy it?


Black and White is a major turn off to a lot of people. I don't envy 1900s television, I don't want to watch anything in black and white whether as a stylistic choice or not

I found lots of similar complaints...
If it was only for let's say 10mins, we can manage that...but doing so far full episodes is a terrible decision.

There are other ways to effectively pass across the same message without affecting viewers experience

I was unable to enjoy the black and white scenes, the viewing experience almost bored me to death...it felt like torture

5 seconds of a cigarette fire being in coloured does not make up for long suffering of watching Black and white

To be fair, Millie has done 4 seasons. Replace her after season 1 is a far cry from trying to replace her now.

That's a method that is powerful and entertains the audience as well...
It gives enjoyment, not torture

The funny thing about this matter, the same GOT where she got a little exposure in Hollywood was produced by HBO. She's not had any significant project ever since, so they definitely knows how much she is worth.

Joaquin Phoenix earned $4.5mn for Joker in 2019. A movie that grossed $1bn+ in the global box office. That's a huge disservice in my view regarding how much the studio made. But look at his pay in upcoming sequel. Phoenix and director Todd Phillips are pocketing $20mn each — 4.4x times initial payment.
That's called leverage and growth. A concept which is some ppl weirdly don't still get.

I watched this about a year ago. Bruno Ganz was spectacular in this movie, very nice to watch. I enjoy WWII movies and about the Nazis also.
Some Nazi focused movies: The Man with the iron heart, The pianist, JoJo rabbit
Some WWII war movies: Saving private Ryan(a classic), Enemy at the gates, Generation war( a German mini series about brothers in the Werchmat), so many I've seen over the years that I can't remember.

Thank you! Everyone got paid what they're worth at the time of employment. If that girl was worth more she would've gotten more. Robert Downey Jnr. got paid 500k plus profit percentage for a total of less than 5mil for Iron Man 1, A tiny amount compared to his pay in the sequels and other avengers films.


Also saw on facebook a while back, people being angry that Leonardo DiCaprio got paid 5mil more than Jennifer Lawrence. It's like being angry that Messi gets paid much more than Saka, It's rubbish! angry

Another short thread on the interpretation and depth of an AOT panel


In chapter 139, in response to why he started the rumbling, Eren said "I don't know why, but I wanted to...at any cost"
This is juxtaposed with the panel after Eren's birth where Grisha says to Eren : "Eren, you are Free"

Wrong interpretation 1 : Eren doesn't know why he did the Rumbling ❌

Wrong interpretation 2: Grisha's manipulation led Eren to do the Rumbling ❌


Correct interpretation in my opinion:
There is a reason why both scenes were juxtaposed. That is, in order to answer the question in the same panel.

We know for a fact that the Attack Titan can see memories of its future inheritors. And as such the future inheritors can use these memories it shows to manipulate the past users. It is even more effective when it is founder + attack

The Attack Titan's nature is a manifestation of Eren's innate obsession with freedom

Kruger stated that every past user of the Attack Titan has always had that obsession to fight against oppression. And it was revealed later in the paths plottwist that this obsession was as a result of Eren's ideology of freedom passing across time to past users -
So the reason the past users of the Attack Titan were that way was because of Eren's Will

At the time of Eren's birth, Grisha was a holder of the Attack Titan and as a result was affected by Eren's will.
Basically, Grisha saying to Eren: "Eren, you are free" is more or less future Eren reinforcing his freedom belief on his child self


Thus, the panel means that despite all the various reasons Eren started the rumbling e.g ending the Titan Curse, or saving his friends...
The main reason that enforced Eren into starting the rumbling was his "IDEOLOGY OF FREEDOM"
 ✅✅✅


This answer has even been reinforced in the latest episode's flashback where Eren broke down and told Ramzi about his disappointment of learning the true state of the outside world and how it contradicts the dream of the world he shared with Armin through Armin's book

Just saw episode 4 of Rabbit Hole

There seems to be a running theme at the end of almost all episodes where it's revealed that the people you think are dead are actually alive.

I still wonder where this plot is going. It's hard to believe any character...we don't know what anyone's plan is...and we can't trust anybody since they're all liars

Ali Wong and Steven Yeun are a diabolically watchable pair of adversaries in #BEEF, a prime cut comedy that finds the pathos in pettiness.

#BEEF is Certified Fresh at 99% on the Tomatometer.

Einar continues to suffer grin

Btw I love the fact that this episode showed Arnheid's backstory ...
Her attempt to keep Einar from her problems when she herself couldn't let go

Arnheid's pregnancy complicates things even further...
She's said she's willing to let the storm pass for her unborn child but another storm is coming (WAR)

Snake's sword skill is really impressive, I wonder who's stronger between him and Thorgil

What I didn't like in this episode was the pacing. It was incredibly slow...I feel like the episode could easily have covered more scenes

You're most likely a fan of the Tokyo Ghoul manga. Most Tokyo Ghoul anime-only fans insist that S3 & S4 weren't bad and manga fans are just overreacting or hating.

Same way Last Airbender fans will tell you Korra is bad while TloK fans will say otherwise.

they should have explored this option first before diving into House of the Dragon, too many spoilers about in House of the Dragon, (no thanks to Joeffrey, the first person to drop a spoiler 😁) Atleast with Aegon's conquest, we won't have a clue as to what's obtainable...

Any "Succession" Episode that has a premise of a Wedding are always hard but Sunday's "Connor's Wedding" Episode was so so extra hard. HBO knows this series thing abeg. Not to exaggerate, but it might arguably be the best episode in Tv drama serial history...Good Lord!, It was that good.

Hearing HBO is planning on submitting Keiran Culkin and Sarah Snook for outstanding leads at the next Emmy, and base off this episode, other contenders will need to work extra hard to stand any chance 😩🙌

Succession S4E3 is currently the highest rated episode on IMDB

Unfortunately it will not last because Succession ratings are not protected like Ozymandias...

No matter how much you downvote Ozymandias, that 10.0 will never remove...even if 20% of users downvote it, it will remain 10.0 cos it's protected

But Succession is not I believe... It will drop like flies once trolls start 1 star ratings


Ozymandias got downvoted by several combined fanbases and kicked down to about 26th or so on IMDB...within a day, IMDB mods threw it back to 10.0 without new votes...

Only other I know is protected so far is the Everyone's Waiting episode from Six Feet Under...
That episode has 11% 1 star ratings but IMDB protects it's score...so it will never drop below 9.9

"Beef" 2023

Brilliant... Just Brilliant.

Saw the trailer for this awhile back and immediately looked like something i will enjoy but was skeptical because it was Netflix but seeing it finally, and i was totally blown away, largely due to the fact that A24 sprayed thier magic on it.

Steve Yeun and Ali Wong stars opposite each other with "beef" to chew but as the story progresses, it became so so much more than them. The supporting characters were 99% Asian Americans, and the story ebb and flowed along that terrain with the focus never actually leaving the two main cast. They were broken, unhinged, brazen and they nailed it all to near flawlessness.
It is was so well written! The tempo control was top tier, it switched from comedy, unbridled joy, to dark, action and despair all with masterful dexterity. The dialogues were so good as well easily carrying the weight of each scene without missing a step. Amazing cinematography, looked like that on EEAAO most likely because the same cinematographer worked on both, The cherry on top was that they had "Hoobstank "The Reason" and Keane "Somewhere only we know" playing as part of the OST and as a huge fan on Rock songs circa 2000 - 2010, i really digged this
I enjoyed the end so much, one of the best ending to a show i have seen in a while. Satisfying enough to make you not yarn for more but yet still hopeful enough that you wouldn't mind a S2...loved it.

Netflix and A24 has made a gem. Casually started it but i quickly breeze through it. It's quite an easy binge and quite frankly,one of the best shows i have seen in this young year...an easy easy recommendation.
