He has actually worsened the situation. He introduced new taxes and increased capital gains tax from 5% to 15% in January. Kenyans are angry with him already. He had to go on his knees for Raila to stop the biweekly protests because he knows they could spiral out of control. He can't pay salaries anymore and forex is scarce.
he should have stopped borrowing immediately he took office..... Completely reduce the size of government

Kenya will need to take another bailout from the IMF and even that is not a solution but it will help them

I would have expected that for Malawi and Burundi not Zambia.

Nairobi of course now the pre-eminent HQ of Africa - as Joburg decays thanks to run away crime & load shedding.
Two make a mistake of thinking joburg is stagnant, yall think of olf cbd

Joburg had been growing north and westwards, it's now joint with. Midrand,

Pretoria moving east and south now closed the gap to midrand also

Moreover, Capetown is home to many headquarters, same for Durban and Pretoria. Pretoria is automative hub of the conntinent last i checked

Take google maps and see how joburg is

Electricity and crime are not restricted to Joburg CBD - but the entire country.
Therefore prepare to see more and more deterioration in living standards, investments and of course re-location of regional HQs to places like Nairobi and Kigali.
Unless of course you fix Eskom and sort the crime.

IMF thinks Ethiopia will grow by a whopping 26% this year. Also Angola is on top of kenya since the Ksh is depreciating
Ghana,am not shocked considering what they went through recently.
Uganda will definitely jump up from 2025 when they start pumping oil.
Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Mkenya2019: 10:16am On Apr 12, 2023
Ethiopia - unless they re-based - or their Birr strengthen (very unlikely).
IMF/WB will stick to the official exchange rate - if you use black market rate for ET & Nigeria - that will almost half their GDP.

I did not touch electricity becase it been fixed already we been having less and lesser frequency of loadshedding days.

Exactly joburg north has less crime that's where headquarters are situated, again there are areas that are exempted from all over the country. Many companies already have their own power source wink

Again you tend to forget Pretoria, durban, port Elizabeth oh how can i forget Capetown which is attracting more tech companies and investments

That's why I don't take these institutions serious. How can they use official exchange rate for African nations while they know how these African nations are overvaluing their currency so they can have a bigger GDP?
IMF and WB should just force all African nations to float their currency then we can have a true picture of GDP, otherwise, if Tanzania decide also to be stupid and overvaluing a shilling by 200%,the next day u will hear our GDP is same as Brazil, but on ground, nothing matches Brazil, even the dollars will be scarce and we will have a black market

Let move to Nigeria - the ultimate zoo

Kenya traveller describes the Zoo - No Electricity/Power, No Fuel, No Naira in the ATM, No roads, No security.

The power problems here seem to be a norm. Pple are accustomed to this way of life. A generator here, generator there, Gen everywhere.

Power problems aside, I am still without money. Getting Nairas here is an extreme sport. See ATM Pic

Tanzania as sovereign nation can do whatever they want.
They will be cheating themselves - a few investors, creditors, and whoever believe those numbers.
