Hello guys. I am currently in Benin republic. I came over here last year, around August. I am into teaching work here. Life here is easier than in Nigeria. Most Nigerians here are Igbo people doing business. BTW, I am Igbo myself.
Over here there is steady light, Steady water supply, the streets are well paved and with street light. Security is Good, You can literally walk around by any time of the night you choose without fear of being robbed or anything whatsoever. I am not in Cotonou or Porto Novo, i am in a city called Bohicon and I must mention that i got the work before i came over here.
How easy it is in Benin Republic to get a teaching job?

You are welcome

Hello, please how is the internet connection there in terms of speed and cost? (For live streaming on Facebook)

Also, are foreigners allowed to go into animal farming there? If yes, can i bring in animals like goats from Nigeria?

Thank you so much and I'm sorry for too many questions.

Benin republic is expensive. Goods and basic amenities are not cheap.

You will pay more for water, electricity, fuel, etc there compare to Nigeria.
If Benin republic is expensive, are the inhabitants not coping. This is sane country my brother. But let me tell you ,food is quite affordable over there compared to naija. Rice and flour plenty. if these two staple foods are cheap, what else do you want. Don't you know prices of rice and flour that skyrockets in Nigeria have made other prices of foodstuff to go in that direction.

Quite revealing
what is the cost of accommodation in Bohicon?
Is it a commercial city?

. graduates and school cert holders can apply for teaching jobs over there. I don't know what you mean by transcript

Try to master your french while you are there, it's very important. It will open new doors in many francophone countries you could call home. Lots of Nigerians rush to English-speaking countries such as Ghana, the UK, the USA, etc when other places have lots of opportunities as well.

Like if you are a graduate, will they ask for your transcript or is your statement of result enough when submitting your credentials?

Hi @Blessings27, is your mum from the Yoruba-speaking areas of Benin such as Ajase Ile (Porto Novo) or is she a Fon?

You must be very fluent in French.

Oh, cool.

I live in benin, if you have any questions just ask.

Be sure to respect the locals and their language, nigerians tend to have a bad reputation for coming here and acting like it's their backyard.

Guy, I have some questions:

Is french widely spoken in Benin? I want to come for an Immersion course in french there and I want to interact with only french speaking people.

What is the cost of a decent Sefcon in Cotonou?

Everyone here speaks french and some speak english, benin is a french speaking country.
English is just a foreign language, benin is good for learning french.

Self contained, 1 room and parlour 30-35k.
