Honestly I always assume every woman knows how to cook. infact all women I've dated know how to cook. what can be different however is that they might not know how to prepare my favourite meals usually due to tribal and/or nurture differences so cooking question for me is assumed answered already

Good for you, and that does NOT mean every woman must know how to cook.

If it is a standard you personally require, then by all means look for it.

But diversity is the beauty of life and we shouldn't all go round imposing our ideas on others.

The Irony of your argument is that women across the world, brought up in different cultures from hyper conservative to Uber liberal have been and still are being taught to cook.

The target market of designer cooking utensils and accessories are not men, they are women. The stars of the cooking threads in this platform are women and no one is bothered with it.

A woman who can cook is as important to a marriage as a man who can knack properly. Yes you can do without either, but a lifetime of this will be pretty grim.

It is as it is...I can cook but my wife cooks better ...I provide for the home and when she does half of what I do....i thank her cos she has rendered something I call "help"...when i cook or does some important home chores she would thank me as well..

Most of us on this thread grew up in middle class households where mum and dad worked

We went to school with girls

We work with women in ghe workplace in all roles.

Most of us have female siblings who are working

We have daughters we are striving to provide the same opportunities as our sons.

I as a guy had to cook for 11 months because i had no option.

So why should i applaud someone for not knowing how to cook? Even if you hate men with every breathe you take, why shouldn't you learn how to cook for yourself?

I am yet to meet a lady that cannot cook and isn't willing to learn. I have never seen any in my entire life.
