Don't just believe everything you read. I can tell you stories the way I want you to see it.

Every economy depends on government spending and every government is run by politician, every politician has a skeleton to hide.

Even Saint America has many things to hide.

In all this, I just hope the lesser evil we are hoping for at least focus on something.

If you read my earlier comment you will see that we have some many questions to asked the STATE Governors.

Many of them are brain dead. They can't run a supermarket profitability.

It is not the responsibility of the state governors to stabilize the naira, control fuel prices, or build refineries.

Let's stick to the topic. Why are you removing subsidy when the supporters of subsidy removal do not even know the gains? I mean we all can agree that subsidy removal will increase the pains of the average Nigerian, so why are you removing it?

If you cannot guarantee Nigerians that the removal of subsidy will help our FOREX, why are you removing it? The prices of cars have increased by over 150% over the last 7 years. Now you want to increase the price of petrol. Will this new increment revert the high cost of vehicles? These are the real issues/questions to ask.

If your government (politicians) have more money to spend, how will that benefit you as a nobody in a political party? Who told you that politicians have ever lacked money?

The only thing in Buhari's head right now is palliatives after subsidy removal. Go and check a front page thread. They have decided to pay 10 million Nigerians 5k per month for 6 month. This is the only thing in Buhari's head right now. We are back again to the NPower and palliative economy that had no real effect in the lives of 95% of Nigerians. Nothing has ruined the lives of Nigerians more than palliatives.

Sharing 5k to 1 million Nigerians, distributing stale loaves of bread to 50,000 homes, giving 2k in exchange of votes, and other internally displaced people's projects are some of the easiest projects any dullard can execute. This nonsense can never help any economy. Having an irresponsible government or a completely senile and consumptive retiree remove subsidy is not something I wish for....

Till this very moment, I find it difficult to know that an average guy in Rivers state boil/ produce petrol from crude oil (bunkering).

Yet our federal government CAN'T to make life easier for it's citizens.

Can somebody please explain to me?

The method is wasteful as they only get one product out of this however crude well refined producers more than one product in fact diverse products come from crude.

The currency will be stable as the loophole of subsidy payment will be blocked. But the main issue is the purchasing power within the economy as the price of fuel may be around 450-500.

Most Nigerian are unreasonable in commodity pricing, they are on the exploitation campaign. This is subject to a lot of uncertainty but the removal must be done. The government will have a lot of money at hand to spend with the removal.

We have to close mark the state governors as they will become wasteful due to surplus funds.

It will make a lot of sense if Dangote refinery can also come on stream. It will help to control the prices as transaction will be in niara.

Dangote refinery won't make it better

I expected this government to fix our refinery but instead they prefer to distribute $800m to imaginary 10m poorest household

It is well

Govt having a lot of money in their hands is neither here nor there. There is no trust and that "lots of money" you are talking about would be stolen and we become even worse off with a few new millionaires as it has been happening.

Thank God you even realise state govts will be wasteful. The wasteful is actually engaging in useless projects that would be exaggerated so that stealing is organised.

Federal and state are the same when there is "lots of money"

Lol, the term poor is not well defined in Nigeria.

If you're earning below 400k monthly, you will definitely be affected. Now, what percentage of Nigerians earn up to 400k? I tell you, they're less than 3% of the total population. In other words, over 95% of Nigerians will be affected!!!

It's left for Nigerians to fight back now & live like normal human beings or remain docile and continue to exist as subhumans. People are already gnashing their teeth in excruciating poverty, then imagine what the situation will be when subsidy is removed.

Tinubu is already condemned by providence. He won't rule over Nigeria because the forces of nature has conspired against him. If the tribunal fails to stop him then the prediction about government collapse in Nigeria and total chaos is about to occur.

After subsidy removal, FX rate is expected to fall, especially with the coming on stream of Dangote refinery. Daily petrol consumption figure will drop drastically.

Initial shock is expected, but overtime with govt. interventions, things will stabilize.

Yes they could have those things because they dont waste billions on petrol subsidy....they instead have effective transport system thats affordable.
The moment we stop petrol subsidy, some of these things will become achievable
People that want to share 5000 monthly to 6 million households. Is that not madness
With billions available for Lagos and Rivers, wetin Dem don achieve?

Looking at how subsidy removal may cause hyper-inflation what is the possibility of those lesser Nigerian currency surviving because fuel at almost 750/litres may aswell wipe out #20 downward. This subsidy of a thing is getting real.
Imagine life after subsidy removal.
Hmmmm, we will adjust.

the government already promise 5 million poor people 5k for 6 months, that shld be enough to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal. With that they will be lifted out of the poverty line in 6 month
