Greetings all. I am having issue with easybuy.

I bought an Itel Phone with Easybuy .
When I tried to pay the last 20k, it failed several times till my money was deducted .

I reported to my bank who reversed the money after 2 weeks.
During this process , EasyBuy Has Gone ahead to lock my phone .
When the money was reversed back into my account, I saw a debit alert from Easybuy meaning they debited the money .

But their app is still showing that I am owing them and they have locked my phone .
I have reported it to them via mails and calls yet nothing has been done.
They have deactivated reset option in the phone .

Please how I do unlock this phone . Thanks Alot

I will never understand using this method to buy phones .




I will rather save and get my phone rather than face their rubbish.


Elsewhere I will use this method but never in Nigeria.

Have you been to an Easybuy office for this complaint? I mean, with all of all these issues, that'd be the first thing I'd do; to get another payment solution since I do not really enjoy defaulting on anything.

Go to the place you bought the phone and show them the alert of the debited money.

These phone outlets have easy buy representative there,talk to them after all when you want get the phone they'll configure it there right?

E be like u still dey owe dem small change(delayed payment) and u no wan pay due to say nah bank network hang the money.

If you bare sure that, that have deduct the money from your acc, go to their office and explain. They will open it.
Another option
Take the phone to where they repair phones, let them flash the phone, hard flashing.

Don't cut corners, call them ask for your loan balance and pay them shikenan..

Easybuy is not a good choice in terms of buying phone on loan.
I will discourage anybody I know who's planning to buy phone from easybuy.
As for those who are saying "of all phones, na itel phone u choose to buy on loan". Its his choice according to his budget or desire.
Would you readily assist this guy if he comes to you for financial help?
If you feel the phone is too local, why not buy him a more befitting one instead of making feel local. Everybody like beta tin, and everybody get wetin he dey lack 4dis life. My opinion!!!!

I remember one girl like that for December last year, the girl dash me the phone , easy buy locked itel P15 , the girl dash me oo with receipt, she don tire of using it, she can only received call on a smartphone, na so she dash me I carry am go engineer shop make dem remove the screen phone
Guess what, this easy buy people are paying the X2 actual price of the phone ....E shocked me, when you see ,EasyBuy; flee

Op, say the truth because easybuy will never take such action just like that. You probably tried to play a smart one on them they now showed you who's the boss.

Normally if like you claimed, you had issues with repayment, they usually generate a personal account where you can make payment manually if it is not automatically deducted. you could have used that one instead of waiting and delaying.

Go meet an easybuy agent to help you update your details on their app so your transaction history and repayments can reflect on their system then they'll unlock your phone back otherwise, your phone is gone.

Nigerians ought to start knowing how to utilise credit and not abuse it so startups building financial services around it don't go bankrupt.


I know it's hard but try and pay for the phone so you can own it with your full chest.

The Easybuy people can't tried that rubbish with me. I can use software methods to bypass it. If it's doesn't work. Remove the memory chips from the panel and put another one and reload it.
