I think Nigeria should really consider getting a nuclear power plant if it can be maintained and properly secured. Not for weapons or anything, so it can be observed by international bodies if questions arise.

Also there should be a military base situated near it to prevent insurgents from attacking the facility.

I feel it's the only viable solution to the electricity challenges we have. We need something more powerful than hydroelectricity and gas. We can't develop properly if power supply still remains a challenge.

I did mention "if it can be maintained and secured". I already factored in the dangers and what not, I know we don't have lots of sane minds in today's political scene but perhaps a new set of sensible people would see the post 10, 20 or even 30 years from today and decide to act on it... .
