Nice one by Turkey. As long as they're not using it for weapons, it's a welcome development.

I think Nigeria should really consider getting a nuclear power plant if it can be maintained and properly secured. Not for weapons or anything, so it can be observed by international bodies if questions arise.

Also there should be a military base situated near it to prevent insurgents from attacking the facility.

I feel it's the only viable solution to the electricity challenges we have. We need something more powerful than hydroelectricity and gas. We can't develop properly if power supply still remains a challenge.

As far back as 2015, I remember that this administration came up with plans to build nuclear power plants in Kogi and Akwa Ibom.

In respect of this, an MOU was signed with the same company (Rosatom) building Turkiye's own. However, community leaders in Akwa Ibom rejected it outrighly even though it was said as part of the agreement that Rosatom will handle the project on a BOO arrangement (which is the same agreement they have with Turkiye).

Plans for Kogi is still very much alive tho. Apparently, we just need a little spark to spice things up.

We have abundant gas sufficient enough to power the nation in excess but the cabal wouldn't want the plant sit in the south where the gas is. We have enough coal in Enugu ready to power the whole of South East but the cabal wouldn't want any good thing in the east. Again, since the cabal is making money exporting gas, fuel and crude and importing generators, electricity is list of there worries.

USA has 92 of that all over their country and this is the 1st for Turkey, hence the news.

I and to the rest of you next time endeavor to open your blurry eyes to fill your empty skulls with the contents of a news and not just the headlines alone.

I don't agree with this your statement... Did you do your research on why FG stepped down plans for nuclear power plant project in Akwa Ibom?

Everything does not have to do with the acclaimed "Cabals" as you have indicated.

Let's see what the state governments are capable of doing now that they have this in their purview or bucket list.

I guess Russia is building in Mali,
When other countries are moving away from nuclear reactors as electricity generating platforms, because of its adverse effects on the environment and humans systems
This one is celebrating Russia building nuclear reactors in Europe, when others are moving forward with sustainable green energy platforms that are environmental friendly.

Who are the others moving? Read up on climate colonialism, young man. Since when have your Slave Masters realised the world needs clean energy? You are naive.

With all their earthquakes there....hmmm

Due considerations are made before construction is done. It also takes years of Research and Development

There are countries in the world today who are prone to earthquakes yet they have nuclear power plants.

We can't ignore the fact that change is constant, but we should also appreciate the accruing benefits to Turkiye on the long run.

Well... While climate colonialism is a reality, I am also aware that Germany has been decommissioning some of their nuclear power plants in recent years.

Thank God Russia, Turkey or China aren’t world powers, otherwise, the world would have experienced terror. These countries are mean by nature, irrational and heartless. They could have turned Africa into a farm land. The only country check mating them is the west. These people are heartless. You need to reside in those countries to comprehend.

Why can't Nigeria sign this kind of agreement with Russia.

Because it will not be in the best interest of the Nigeria elites and Polithieficians.

They make so much money from the sale of generators and fuel subsidy, a project to generate electricity like this scale will be a nonstarter.

They off course will count of us to continue voting for them and snatching ballot boxes on their behalf because our mumu nofa do.

Honestly, I think the main reason a project like this wouldn’t be possible in Nigeria is truly not because of the Polithieficians, rather because our mumu nofa do.

The USA nukes are station in inrilk airbase in turkey..

There is a difference between nukes and nuclear energy for generating electricity
Yes, Iran is using theirs for electricity generation. Yet the West wouldn't let us rest with "weapons of mass destruction ". Seems they know many things you don't.

Buhari went to Russia and signed something similar, but safety as regards nuclear power plants brought a lot of protests by the proposed host community of the nuclear power plants (leakage is not child's play because a whole state can be evacuated during a nuclear accident)

Another more accurate reason could be the usual eye-service proposal by the by our political class over time (Telling us what they will do, but they won't do it)

Why can't Nigeria sign this kind of agreement with Russia.
My thoughts too.
Why can't we join Brics too.
Why can't we also ditch the dollar in trade with China, Russia and other countries. Few years ago cbn said they will start keeping some of our reserves in yuan. It all entered voice mail. Even union bank Nigeria that introduced union pay cards, a Chinese equivalent of mastercard did not follow through.
Imagine you want to buy items from aliexpress, you have to change your money to dollars first before buying. If Nigeria sold oil in yuan and held reserves in the currency, majority of our trade with China will not require the dollar and since there will be lower demand for usd, naira will appreciate.
Hope the incomming administration will look into this.

I wasn't talking about nuke... We don't need nuke here. We have abundance of fuel power to light up the nation, the cabals and elites just can't handle. Well like you said, let's see what the governors can do however, I don't expect them to do much because, their income still comes from the federal government. Only Lagos is capable of doing a power project due to sufficient IGR. The nation is set up to depend fully on the center due to the some fear of independence in the south. Until that center is weakened, Nigeria cannot move forward. I was surprised to hear that even state tax is been controlled by FIRS... Thats horrible. Unless federal steps in, federal roads cannot be done by a state governor. It means, the federal decides if you live or die. Very terrible country.

It is amusing, funny and shocking to read some of those comments up there.
School no be scam ooo, as una dey sing about on a daily basis.
This is so disappointing to read all these nonsense and bs coming from adults in the society.
What a pity!

To the lay men out there that are ready to learn,
Let's dissect to you the meaning of Nuclear power plant...

What is the purpose of the nuclear power plant?

Nuclear energy can be used to create electricity, but it must first be released from the atom.
In the process of nuclear fission, atoms are split to release that energy.
A nuclear reactor, or power plant, is a series of machines that can control nuclear fission to produce electricity.

As you can see, it is only for electricity,
Not the drums of War, chaos and fear some people are bringing to your door already.

Ignorance is not a disease,
It's something worse...

They only read the headline and booom,
Nonsensical comments start....
Shuuooo

I've read comments from real nuclear physicists in quora and they don't sound this arrogant and disrespectful to people ... Why are Africans like this? Small knowledge that u acquire, u want to brag more than Albert. Na wa oo
