In Rivers state, the people of Opobo seemed originally to be Igbos but because they were closer to the riverine people of Rivers state, there has been some divergence in customs and traditions. They won't claim Igbo and Igbos see them as lazy

Even Okowa who is the governor of the state told us ethnicity wise he is Igbo. So I don't know why you are raising this argument. We have Igbo tribes even outside Nigeria. Most tribes in Nigeria have population outside their defined geographical regions or states where they are concentrated. You have the Ijaws for instance in almost all state in the Niger Delta (and even outside Nigeria) and Tiv people in most states in the North Central and some southern state.
You even have Igala tribal populations in two local government in Anambra State and are indigenous. You don't just sit down and make assumptions base on what "a friend" told you.
You need to travel and learn.
