When you realize the role your god as a Muslim plays in impoverishing the North, you'll know why some people campaign against your religion. The average northerner gives birth like a pig with the mentality that he has left all his affairs in Allah's hands and that Allah will take care of the kids. No planning done whatsoever. Many clerics in Yorubaland used to have this same mentality — of leaving their affairs solely in Allah's hands — following Islamic injunctions until harder times in the country forced them to have sense. They embraced family planning by fire by force and limited the number of kids they had. Religion and low literacy level are the major problems behind the high level of poverty in the North. Religion is like yahoo-yahoo enriching some and impoverishing others. |

GloriousGbola:The overwhelming majority still do. If there was an actual 360 degree paradigm shift, the north will burn and be too hot for the elite. The bandits are those that have realized their freewill and self-agency and are prepared to do whatever to make that paper. It’s in the best interest of the northern elite that more self-realization does not happen. That’s why in my opinion, Jonathan courted the wrath of the elite with the almajiri schools thing. A proper Education is a dangerous weapon. |

seankafor:People have repeatedly said that thuggery didn't really die out - it has been replaced with 419 and yahoo. But that only applies for youth who have at least seen the 4 walls of a school and have some level of exposure. For every one of you there are 10 or 20 uneducated youths whose only future is cart pushing or site laborer. |

GloriousGbola:It’s the same thing with Agberoism in the west . Go to Lagos island , Oshodi, Ajah, Igando , Ikotun, Iyana Iba, Ikeja to mention a few ….. u will be alarmed by the number of people with little or no education and zero skills other than threatening violence to extort those who actually hustle by carrying loads for people , driving mini buses , keke napep etc . Each region is sitting on its keg of gun powder . Like u posted up there , the period that followed ENDSARS was terrible , Men had to form vigilante groups to protect their families against some of these guys who resorted to arms |

DeadPresidents:It is also why there will forever be a pool where bandits can source from. In my opinion, it starts from bh. You have guns. You murder steal rape. You have tasted power. So if bh is shutdown, what is left for you? Are you going to go back to spending the rest of your life as a serf /peasant? So you pivot to banditry. If your numbers are whittled down you call your old friends who used to beg with you to join up |

GloriousGbola:419 and yahoo are the advanced thugery and the lesser devil 😈 in my own.. Even the uneducated ones now are leaning towards the aforementioned which in my own is much better than carrying arms and constituting nuisance |

Well, many northerners are returning the favour to Obi. There is nothing in Obi’s eight-year record as governor of Anambra State to suggest that he can help people exit poverty. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics, which Charles Soludo referenced in a 2015 article, showed that Obi took Anambra from the most prosperous state in Nigeria to one of its poorest. Copied. |

These stereotypical territorialisations of crimes and negative stereotypes are often considered offensive when they are uttered by “outsiders” but tolerated, sometimes praised even, when they are uttered by “insiders.” Copied |

For instance, in March 2015, Mrs. Aisha Buhari stirred up a hornet’s nest when, during a campaign speech in Benin City, she said the biggest problems confronting Nigeria’s deep south were girl child trafficking and the mistreatment of widows. “In each zone of the country, we have peculiar problems. Our problems differ,” she said. “For me, in this zone, girl child trafficking should be considered one of our problems, though I know there is unemployment…. There must be a design, a cultural design, that can accommodate the widow, and then a design that will make a girl child feel comfortable wherever she is in this country. She doesn’t need to leave her country to go and prostitute elsewhere. It is not her potion; her potion is to have a highly standard moral society for her to live, get married, have children, train them, and to support them to become the future of our leaders.” Many southern Nigerians seethed with raw rage in the aftermath of Aisha’s speech. They reviled, ridiculed, and besmirched the North in retaliation. They told her to first take the plank out of the North’s eye so she would see clearly enough to remove the speck from the South’s eye. Copied |

Blueraydicks, see your guy Ndubuisi Ekekwe: "Good People, I am back on Twitter, after many attempts, and this time, it is permanent. Yes, Twitter has built the product which I have been asking for: give me enough space to build my logic as the 140-character thing was restrictive. This is my Twitter handle: @ndekekwe https://twitter.com/ndekekwe In the Igbo Nation, the elders will remind everyone that “uwa bu ahia” which means the world is a marketplace, literally. The implication is that Twitter with hundreds of millions of people is one of the world’s largest “markets”. Since Musk bought Twitter, he has built the Twitter I think works for me. Forget the noise that paying for the blue checkmark is bad. Nonsensical. I got back to Twitter and paid about four days ago. They unlocked enough space. The checkmark is a marginal value; the real deal for me here is the extra space. My subscription - a business expense - has paid for itself; five people joined Tekedia Capital Syndicate membership today from Twitter and that is $5,000, beating the $84 I paid for Twitter's annual subscription. "Uwa bu ahia" - and Twitter like LinkedIn, Facebook, etc are some of the largest markets in the world, bigger than any "economy" in Africa. Define what works for you. I do not come here to entertain; this is a marketplace!"

GloriousGbola:It’s the same thing down West here also. A lot of our boys who should be going to school, learning a trade to become artisans and add value to the society are either joining cultism, doing yahoo yahoo or going into agberoism. Come from Ketu down to Ikorodu and you will even see boys that are not up to 18 already shouting owo mi da. We are sitting on a gun powder and it can explode at anytime. Or is it our girls that has now taken hook up/Olosho as a career path? It’s really not looking good. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:58am On Apr 22, 2023 |
larride:It’s annoyingly alarming bro . I am well traveled all round Lagos and I’m sacred seeing agberoism reign supreme anywhere I find myself . These people are just one crisis away from robbing u. Na why I dey fear about the whole subsidy removal shiii. Personally I’m not bothered about what the aftermath , but I’m sacred about what will happen when subsidy is removed , normal people who give handouts to these “owo’mida boys “ do not have anything to give again…..These boys will surely rob us blind with no pity . |

BlueRayDick:He's not wrong. But the average Twitter user is looking for news and entertainment, not to monetise Stuff. Most of these guys just use Twitter to gain large followerships that they can funnel to their own sales channels. We're hearing that in the 24 hours following the suspension of legacy verification, Twitter Blue has a net gain of 28 subscribers. Not 28k or 2800. 28. It remains to be seen what goes on from here. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 10:05am On Apr 22, 2023 |
Unlimited22:The majority users don’t blooody care if Twitter breaks even or not. They just want to gossip and make friends/followers . Musk on the other hand is a capitalist and wants to make money off his new acquisition . It remains to be seen if power truly belongs to the people or power belongs to the person sitting atop a board making decisions |

What do you think of Starship launch pad? Couple of twitter Civil engineers claim the concrete in the below picture is a very poor type. Also it is claimed this is not the standard acceptable launchpad Cc: GloriousGbola

izzou:I no order anything o. U can see the truth hurts…. Deadpresidents is a northerner through and through and he attested to the fact that there’s serious poverty in the north. It’s the usual suspects that are seeing it as an insult and are rehashing quotes about girl child trafficking , prostitution etc( which are obvious problems of the south ) that will make the north better/no longer in poverty . |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by liveLongNprospa(m): 12:47pm On Apr 22, 2023 |
BlueRayDick:Lmao.. You don't bother with things like this. People hate the truth like that will in anyway change reality 😁. As if we as Nigerians are proud about the situation in the north. It's like saying SS people especially those from Delta state will argue with you if we are told we have a "yahoo" pandemic amongst our youths. See people using that stat to "dunk" on Obi😂😂😂. You go just realise say truly education nor be scam at all |

BlueRayDick:Giving the northern elite access to Oil revenue was a big blow for northern development. Orange County alone had a GDP of $281 billion in 2021 with the bulk of this coming from Orange products. The north were on the pathway to this with the groundnut trade but lazy northern elites decided it was easier to feed fat on easy oil wealth than actually developing the damn place. Imagine Makurdi could export oranges, cashews and mango juice to Europe? I bought mango juice from Rauch for €2.5 and the mangos produced in Benue alone can supply feedstock for at least 1 million liters. That’s cool millions in fx coming in. |

Nostradamus1:The beauty about science is that it improves upon its standard. The SpaceX that failed is the most powerful rocket ever built, with a launching force nearly twice that of NASA rockets, so it is expected the force will shatter everything around it including the launchpad. All they have to do now is gather data and improve upon what happened. Anyone who follows my posts will know I am not an Elon Musk fan but I respect his sense of creativity which is spurred by curiosity. He will eventually get it right. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 1:15pm On Apr 22, 2023 |
Roland17:Well.. Yes and no. The beauty of engineering today is that a lot (but not all) of trial and error can be eliminated via simulation and design and calculations. This apparently was the big difference between edison and tesla. Edison would brute force until he git it right, but tesla would simply calculate his way there We can argue that Elon is in uncharted territory, but that is not strictly true. They have been launching Rockets and satellites since the 60s. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Roland17(m): 1:29pm On Apr 22, 2023 |
GloriousGbola:Fair point, however, the fact that this rocket which requires nearly 18 million (some are reporting 16M) pounds of thrust which is twice the of NASA’s biggest rocket thrust power made it up before blowing up because it couldn’t disengage is a huge success. 18 million pounds of thrust can do a lot of damage to surrounding environment, how much more a launch pad that is engaging such force for the first time. The Apollo space program is a typical example of improvements upon previous attempts. You are right, not all scientific errors get corrected but most are because of funding because science in itself is guided by curiosity. Elon is a private businessman and an inventor, albeit he has strayed away from the latter but I believe he will learn from this, except he goes broke or this venture eats too much out of his pocket. |

BlaqFaze:Obi in Borno. I will Pull the CHILDREN of the North out of poverty. . Northerners should be clapping and dancing for him for saying thatStatistics came out to say the South East has the highest number of poor person per square miles. Most people on front page are even rejecting the statistics but they want northerners to be dancing and twerking for Obi for insulting their children. |
