bro as for light, forget about it, even in next 50 years, we can't get 24hrs power supply

It is what it is
That is where you're wrong. Some states will soon start having much more reliable power. One of the last things Buhari sighed off on was decentralisation of power.

Now we can get power directly from power stations in lagos. No more power from genco to national grid to disco. Now you can get direct from your genco. Good bye system collapse

The guy jumped into a business he did not understand. And he had not lined up a customer, which makes it worse.

This story can apply to any endeavour. It is actually why fledgling businesses fail.

You need to have actually worked in the business or have a friend that does.
Exactly . Nigerians have the habit of jumping into businesses they know little or nothing about and end up burning their fingers .

I’ve seen people retire from paid employment , venture into businesses like fish farming and end up burning their fingers . They just look at the prospect of profit and start pumping into businesses they have no idea about.

Not trying to be mischevious cos I havent been following the news recently - Is the president elect back in town or been seen publicly? I feel its been awhile and very unlike BAT, It is too early to be going MIA
grin

Thanks for your concerns, Ẹ̀gbọ́n Ọla. BAT is fine and healthy. He is fully concentrated on tasks ahead rather than appearing on screens for PR sakes or cuz some persons are calling for it.

May 29 is just few days to go, and he will be around before the date definitely. He spoke with President Buhari yesterday for some minutes. Orji Uzor Kalu also confirmed his health status just of recent.

BAT is very healthy and ready to lead the Country for 8yrs.

The thing is he thinks he’s wiser than thousands of people who ply that same route regularly and dem no charter J5 bus to carry tubers of yam to Lagos .

He thinks he’s ogbon sodiki grin

Just like u said up there , those market associations are like cultists . If u carry grinding machine and put for front of ur house anywhere on the mainland in Lagos ; u will surely get a visit from pepper grinders association within a matter of weeks . If u choose not to join the association , they will ground ur grinding business 😂

Commodity exchanges and commodity boards are pretty common in trade, Yam can't carry last.

GloriousGbola, what's your opinion on those block of flats in Festac?

Are they still strong enough to last for a decade, even with no maintenance?

Anytime i read about a building collapsing, i always remember Festac

I don’t prove things like that . Barbing , Pumping of tyre, etc . I know they have association that sets a price floor they can’t charge lower than, so I just pay them without any argument/haggling

Those flats were built by Germans. They will stand.

The buildings that collapse are those built by us

We cut corners while building and then we still try to go above the design requirement.

Design is for two storey. Reduce quality of materials then change to 3 storey

Not quite the same thing but we once demolished a station built by agip. You should have seen the state of the underground tanks. Looking brand new after over 20 years. Meanwhile tank done by naija contractor looks like complete shut in 3 years becaue of corner cutting.

Those legacy original 1977 buildings can probably stand forever. Structurally. The facade and finish can go to shit, but the structure of the building - that will still stand imho.

I like to say you can't cheat in engineering. The mago mago you did will come out during use of the facility.

The movement of the white man's lip actually syncs with the speech from the yahoo boy

do people confuse AI with photoshoping and video editing?

I think video editing has been available for a long time and there are certain apps that can perform close perfect deep fakes..

Is that also part of the AI narrative because I don't understand

Another thing to note is that AI is on the rise because of the powerful computers we have now

Just like last time when GPUs were constantly out of stock because of crypto mining (Eth fixed this significantly by moving to PoS).... GPUs are now going out of stock because of AI

And also AI needs information...lots of it to even be considered intelligent

I guess maybe at that time, we didn't have as much information as we have now

The powerful capabilities of ChatGPT released late last year are the main factor driving the current AI hype.

AI has been around and in use for years, but the great features of the recently released ChatGPT was a key advance in the technology showing the immense potential of artificial intelligence.

The amount of info on the internet greatly enhanced the features of ChatGPT
