I predicted that if we play this 433 formation, Manchester city will decimate us with their 3241 and I was right. It was the exact score I was thinking (ie 4-1 or 5-1).

Not only are we low on confidence heading into the match(which was a high pressure match also) but Guardiola new formation is alien and we wouldn't get a grip on it and it surely happened. Plus Guardiola would have used all week to work on our shape and rotations which I believe he did cos we were very crowded in all areas.


I think Arteta should have respected Man city. He should have plucked a leaf out of last season when we played Chelsea at the back of 3 straight losses. The switch in formation gave us new verve which we used in winning all the difficult matches lined up for us before falling to Tottenham.

Anyways, we move!!

This defense has conceded 14 goals in last 4 games. Even when we were winning we still struggled to keep a clean sheet.

But some want me to believe this defense would have done better than Luiz playing behind a drab midfield in Emery era.

When it comes to supporting the attack with build up I give it to this set of defenders. But you see for their primary responsibility which is to defend, it is not better than Mustaffi and Luiz. Stats don’t lie .
