Pearl come and carry your people. So I pick a trip on Bolt from unilag to Magodo. Trip starts at 6.08pm and end at 9:58 at 16.7k on a surge of 1.3. The fare returned as 9k, only for me to receive a message from David about rider complaining of over charge, I should return 4500 to his bank account grin

I don't understand, they should just block me.

Truth be say, rich chics that came from wealthy homes barely use e-hailing cab, because most times, they have their own car.

95% of female riders na hustler.
Fallacy! embarassed

Most riders especially on the island have a car. People use cab when their car is at mechanic workshop, when they can't drive at a certain time of the day, when they have phobia for traffic, when they are having an all night hangout, etc...

There are different reasons people take a taxi. I have picked a lady that just parked her lexus inside her house (she's the landlady) and entered my car.

Meanwhile, some riders will rot in the deepest part of the hell.

I picked a request going to Lagos Island from Shomolu on Sunday around after 9pm. When I got there, I met 5 drunk guys with drinks in their hands.

I told them that I don't carry more than 3 adults at the back. They've already entered the car before the 4th person came to join.

They were trying to persuade me to go on the trip but I insisted I wasn't going. I never knew that while they pretended to be persuading me to go on the trip, one of the them wickedly opened my foot mat and emptied the drink he has inside my car floor.

It was when I went to pick another rider that she pointed my attention to the liquid. Up till now, I'm still scooping the drink out of my car.

Man's wickedness to his fellow man. Thankfully, I didn't go on the trip. These ones might just get to their destination, alight from the car and go their ways without paying.

bro my partner just increased my remittance fee from 30k to 35k. I guess it is cos I remit frequently without stories. I am torn between returning the car and continuing with the car. Started using the car November last year. Talmabout alot of drivers are even offering to pay him 40k weekly.
Don't have this mindset it is bad. Remitting on time without stories will not make him look for another driver to work with especially as you know many people will gladly take your place and even pay 40k. If you still make something for yourself then hang in there till something better comes.

I no be human being? Is using Bolt not witin my right and jurisdiction as a driver? Truth is you cant calculate Berger traffic and the riders on other app are not willing to go beyond 4500, while some drivers are unapologetically fo*ls. As at 11pm I am still in Magodo phase 2, thinking of how to get home. Saw a trip on rider for 2000 to ishaga and map was saying 38 mins. I was battling with the lady for mins, gave her 3400, thinking it was a field day for me. From no where this driver just dived by accepting 2k. I won cry, lo and behold he wasn't able to complete the trip. The trip came back as 2k again, I still use strong head give her 3k, which she accept. Guess what? We got to her destination by 12:30am.

As for the Bolt ride, they didn't even calculate the distance well as we branch to another place and I use mile 12 to connect ikosi. The main trip without those waka is 15.7km, they can't tell me the other waka is 1km.

Indrive is pushing a narrative that riders can just offer any fares they like, it's possible ,maybe in other cities. But in Lagos, pricing has to be dynamic.. or create adequate compensation inlieu.

I still wonder the guys that pick those berger trips on Indrive, what are they smoking 🚬? Cos I don't seem to understand

As a science student (except u are not) u should know that any machine or system that works at high rate is dispensing more energy and doing more work.
In d case of a car, driving 120-140km/hr for hours, is definitely different from within town driving. Ur engine and every part of the car is strained from covering more miles within a short time frame.

Have u asked why cars that where formerly used for interstate movement are relegated to Intrastate after some years of service? Have u asked why a car that u will be using for months without issue will suddenly break down on d highway when u carry it to travel?

How can u say d only difference between highway travelling and within town movement is tyre wear and tear??... U dey amaze me o!!!
What strains your engine is stop and go traffic not highway driving. Cars wear out faster in the city than on the highway. You can watch this video from 1:00 to 2:00

yesterday I took a client to adeola odeku just after ahmadu Bello way, normally I don't stay long in

On island couple with the fact that it's closing period... Immediately set destination back to Berger on bolt while I checked trips on Indrive.. first trip I accepted the last payment#7300 I talked to my boss he said the traffic on the road is much thank God rider chatted and cancel..... Second trip on indrive accepted #6800 to omole phase 2 but she was not willingly to cancel and I'm not willingly to go luckily bolt gave me River valley for 1.2 surge and I jejely go with that, while on the trip, suddenly the rider told me the trip has ended mogbe! 1.2 surge where will I start from, check phone and confirmed it tried calling veterans none picked up..I was sweating and I'm almost approaching ogudu towards alapere. Immediately I saw the price of the trip that ended it was #7300 bolt ask her to pay#6500 immediately I asked her to order again so to continue the journey and luckily it fell to me... And we concluded the trip.... #13600 total bolt gave 1600 bonus......

Perhaps, if you used youtube and google more frequently, you will not be asking silly questions.

You asked why cars used for interstate transport are now used for intrastate transport. Why didn't you ask why no one uses cars that have been used for intrastate transport while moving the length and breadth of Lagos for interstate transport.

You also asked why cars used in the city suddenly develop faults when taken to the highway. Does it not prove the point that city driving kills cars? Did the fault suddenly come after the vehicle entered the highway?

If a car is in a good condition, taking it to the highway will not make it breakdown. If it does, the vehicle was never in a good condition and it's only a matter of time before it happens even if the vehicle didn't leave the city. It happened faster on the highway obviously because more miles were covered.

Good day everyone. I need advice:-

I have a 6 speed manual classic Nissan TIIDA 2008 sitting at home everyday. Everything is intact but wifey doesn't know how to drive manual.

Also, I'm not currently not in naija I'm planning on buying auto car for her which she can be using for her businesses and kid(s) runs.

Sir/ma, is it advisable to give this car on rental/hire purchase, or make I kuku leave the car at home sitting idle (this Uber is what I used in owning my first Car through hire purchase which I sold and use in japa) although God has blessed me not that I have billions but I'm very comfortable.

Also I've bought 3 bikes 🚲 for hire purchase which I put my Dad in managing it of which I later regretted it had to tell him to take all the bikes so that I won't get frustrated cos too many complains of not having remittance and all.

I don't really wanna sell the car because the car is my first profit I made over here and I feel is just like I'll be uplifting someone from problem(s).

I'm very afraid to trust people again especially drivers/riders.

I'll appreciate your inputs

Lolz...I am asking silly questions but u just clearly broke down the reasons why highway driving is more straineous on the car without you even seeing or recognising it.
Aren't my silly questions better than ur IQ?

The answer to your questions is very simple;
It is because highway driving is more tasking and demanding on the totality of the car. Everything needs to be working optimally if the car has to perform efficiently on the highway through out the journey.

If u can manage a 'bad' car within town for weeks/months but the moment u take it for Interstate journey it breaks down, what does that tell u? It means the car cannot deliver on the demands of interstate journey required of the car.

If a car is only good for within state movement but can't go on a far journey, what does that Infere?
It simply means interstate journey is not the mate of Intrastate driving.

If u say it's town driving that spoilt the car, did u also use that car for outside state movements for the same period and it didn't need repairs?

U see, sometimes people fail to use their common sense to think or to infere based on practical experience. Could it be because they are too lazy to think or they don't even have sense in the first place.

Rather than disagree on the issue in other to learn or to put forth ur own argument, u choose to insult. That in itself is a characteristic of an illiterate who has no capacity to comprehended simple processes.

Omo surge everywhere. But the traffic out there is mad. Not sure I’m entering road today. Probably cos Monday is public holiday too that’s why everywhere is blocked.

Omo I was almost caught my lastma at agege. I was descending from the bridge and that round about where police and lastma gathered. The map confused me and I followed one way to enter oniwaya road. Grateful I sped immediately I heard stop and road was free then. From now I will be turning off the traffic color on google map.

I don't know if it's to split your head into two and put what I'm saying in it at this point. That bad vehicle did not breakdown because you took it on the highway, it still would have broken down in town given the same conditions that made it happen on the highway. A bad car is a bad car.

Vehicles operate optimally at high speeds and not in stop and go traffic. Battery is well charged, engine operates at normal temperature, transmission goes to the highest gear and stays there for long, no constant changing of gears like in the city, brake pads, steering, shafts, shocks experience less usage on the highway and less wear and tear.

Everything I've stated here is a statement of fact. I'm surprised anyone with a working brain can even argue this.

E hailing is a very dicey business, I always ask people to follow what works for them. Some riders pick ride based on proximity, some just leave the price floating for hours on rida/indrive. There's this guy with a picture of a baby on afro, guess his name is Oluwadamilare. He can leave price floating for 2hours. Why he does that? I don't know. I have few like that too, I don't bother picking their trips again. The career types are the worst hit on this. Now imagine a driver with only one app after other apps has blocked him or her?
