Apologize for what is right?

That stones goal was pure onside. It shouldn't even be up for debate

You should know I'm not the type to be dwelling on controversial calls. I'd have uploaded a picture if I can. The first replay was the legit one and Stone was way offside.

Gabriel's positioning was what paved the way for KDB. Gabriel adjusted a bit and KDB took advantage.
Na there second goal dey baffle me pass.
True. I saw that too.

Woh, Arteta should look for pacy full back with some ruthlessness of Wan Bissaka as extra. My eyes dey pepper me every time they counter us and i see fullbacks strolling like they are forwards. It's an abomination to me, just like it is to Jose Mourinho. They are yet to realize that the pace of Saliba this season has saved us on a dozen occasions, especially where he outruns those running back. That thing dey muzz me gaan. Especially Partey. Guy runs back like he's a cartpusher in Tianjin in one Jet Li movie. Very annoying.

It is surprising that they used the left side to attack us for most of their goals. I think Pep has given Arteta a hint of where the weakness in his team is. Plus after their goal, he was berating Ederson and it was about not giving long balls directly. Stones did that and it led to their goals. =Another weakness Pep has shown.

We we totally outplayed but the mentality change with Trossard. How that guy sits on the bench sef dey make me vex with Arteta.

A 3man defence with wingbacks system should be used to allow this Saliba absence reduced imo.

Actually, it's by ball playing part. White has his leg ahead of both his legs and chest/head. It is onside.

This is the reality that some delusional fans never accepted before or after the game.

"It is in our hands"
"We can beat them there [at their ground]"
"We made silly mistakes in the first league encounter but we were the better team"

Self-absorbing nonsense like that.

As if the mistake that was made was unforced.
As if they had precedence for the confidence they had going into the game.

I know some of them call themselves gooners but maybe they need to actually Google that word to see what it means.

A lot of quasi-intellectuals on nairaland need this wake up call.
grin

Still can't believe some Arsenal fans thought they were going to beat Man City at the Ethiad. The outcome of that match was what was expected.

Left to me I wouldn't blame them for the defeat against Man City as there was absolutely nothing they could do. Defeat was inevitable at the Ethiad.

I'd rather blame them for dropping 6 points against Liverpool, Southampton and West Ham.

Exactly what I was warning them about when I told them it is no longer in their hands but I was receiving pushback by groupthink.

Stones was not offside.

The linesman had ruled him off first and City players moved on. They did not surround the ref to complain. It was the VAR team that reviewed it and drew lines for all to see.

What would the refs have gained by giving City the goal? If they were going to help us, Partey fouled KdB and should have received a yellow card + penalty.

I hope the summer transfer is hotter than previous ones. We really need reinforcement. Tactics no be palava. Na personnel be the issue for now. Plus he needs to upgrade his in game management, how to tweak in game and come out tops. Sporting Lisbon has given a lesson on that. They tweaked thrice. How fluid.

Overall. Trossard should be a starter till last day

No way White's leg was on the same line as Stone's shoulder. The first replay was the legit one. The one shown to us during the VAR was tilted and incorrect.

Arteta has activated the phase 4 of the development plan by adding two more staffs.

Arsenal Staff Reshuffle for Phase 4 of Arteta’s Plan: Jason Ayto, James Ellis Assume New Roles

Jason Ayto has been appointed assistant sporting director, and James Ellis has been promoted to head of recruitment at Arsenal, part of a reshuffle by sporting director Edu Gaspar.

Both Ayto and Ellis will work across the men's and women's teams as well as the academy, supporting Edu in their new roles.

Ellis, who joined Arsenal in 2021 from Fulham, was previously known as the club’s first-team scout in the UK. Ayto, who started scouting for the club in 2014, has been serving as the club’s recruitment coordinator. #arsenalfanaticsnews

We'll need to get this summer transfer right in order to improve on what we already did. Our bench and squad depth this season was Top4 at best and it proved so. The quality between 1st 11 and 2nd 11 is very stark. Hopefully we'll get it right.

I believe Arteta would improve in his in-game management next season. Even though we're all disappointed but we must admit that Arteta's in-game management this season was very improved compared to last one. Everything is a process and I believe he'll improve as he's always doing season by season.

Well, Trossard being a starter now is too late. He should have maintained his spot when he finally benched Nketiah as our team were gun blazing with Trossard but Arteta had other ideas in Jesus. Sorry to say but I'm not feeling Jesus post injury compared to Jesus before WC. And I still think Trossard would have been kept till end of season where him and Jesus would have drag the spot in preseason

Remember to establish who the tackler is and then decide if that tackler attempted to take the ball or intrude on the person who established territory around the ball.

That is 100% a penalty for City and a yellow card for Partey.

This is one of the reasons why I would never criticize this team nor Arteta for not winning the league even though I would have loved for them to win it. We're still in phase 3 of Arteta's 5 phase process to be champions. Next season is phase 4 and with what they've shown this season, I'm really optimistic about next season.

This season, we overachieved on our goal and no matter how anybody (fans or rivals fans) wants to look at it, it's still the fact and we didn't bottle anything.

Make them reach Phase 4 and 5 first(esp the latter) and if arsenal isn't challenging or winning Trophies (or even capitulating), that's when I'll Justifiably criticize this team because by then they'll have come of age.

For now, I'm in awe in what Arteta and the boys have done since last season up till now and I'm proud of them. I just wish them many more heights.

You have a point though. However, I believe if you're almost there, you should do everything it takes to be there. There is simply no excuse, I repeat no excuse for bottling the league this season. Not like we're 1 point ahead. 5 valuable points FFS. We bottled a 2-goal lead not once but twice. What's even more embarrassing was how ordinary Southampton ran rampage in front of our fans. I should now use one useless development plan to console myself? No bro.
The team fumbled! They didn't try enough.
