quota system will not allow them because it will affect the north more, but the police have enough graduate that are still not recognize.Many graduates don't want to join the force because it is unattractive and very risky.

Were they alcoholic before they joined the force? Probably, not so. Serving in the police force exposes one to situations that predisposes an individual to alcohol dependence. Having to work at odd hours, the physical and mental exertion the nature of their work depresses, the trauma often experienced, yes, they have to be at accident scenes, encounter other violent intensive situations. Substance makes it easier to cope with the aforementioned.

So if it’s a job specific issue, why is he not fit to serve? Alcohol inhibits the ability of the officer to make decisions that has mortal consequences.

What can be done? It can be argued that alcoholism is a disabling condition. However, if professional support such as psychological therapy are accessible by the officers, and there is control over how much alcohol can be consumed and such is done in a safe hour, not before duty, and further, the police authority engages more hands to reduce the work experiences that spurs the problem, we may begin to address the issue.

This officer is probably lost on cheap and dangerous alcohol. There has to be consequences for him, so as to deter others. However, if such consequences is to fire him, and not provide a much more concrete solution to the problem of alcoholism, we would continue to see officers like this.
