daveP:Things will get sorted out before next season. There’s a reason there’s preseason for coaches to work and improve on their team for the upcoming season; and there’s a reason there’s transfer window for coaches to strengthen their team where they feel they are lacking in any department . |

mostob:Considering how useless our opponent was he didn't do much in the game, at one stage he was supporting jourghino or maybe dragging position with jourghino He was tidy sha, and improved from the sporting match |

mostob:i think kiwior and Jorg compliment each other. Immediately Partey came on, more wahala for kiwior. He had an excellent 1st half, especially passing and positioning, tackling. I'll give him a 7.7. I expected the coming of Mudryk to make White or arteta to command white should sit back. But alas, that never happened. I hate when he underrate wingers. They've been the most lethal threat to our defense than ever strikers or midfielders. Well, Young manager excuse dey epp am. Now we rely on Westham to help us. And so it will be till end of season. |

BlueRayDick:This is simply theoretical na. Have we utulized windows well? Let's hope it will be totally different this time around. Expectations low then upped for me is the way. Till then, ba lookery. |

daveP:If we didn’t utilize the last window well, we won’t be dragging first position with city having finished 5th last season . |

I think teta is finally realizing Saka is off so far. He lost possession in the box the most in the last 6games combined. it got to a point that once he gets the ball, i was expecting dispossession, and he didn't prove me wrong. If he went for shots or passes like xhaka, he would have gotten at least an assist. Conclusion, all the goals came from the left wing immediately Martinelli was not in the lineup. If saka comes from the bench maybe that will happen on right wing. Trossard did okay for me. In press and passes. Technical guy. He makes things easy for xhaka unlike Nelli. |

daveP:We bought Zinchencko and Gabriel Jesus . The influence of both players on our style of play and attack this season has been acknowledged by both fans and foes. |

ok, arteta started the inverted left back/midfield free role with zinny, then pep tuned in and started his with walker then john stones and recently kloop is doing same with arnold. we played city in fa cup with the same tactics and it was brilliant, liverpool first leg, newcastle and even spurs and it worked perfectly no body complained, now witch don enter zinny head and he's making errors and getting too carried away, we now know it's not and wasn't a good idea. lol |

daveP:The irony here is that it’s actually Xhaka that should be making life easier for Martinelli and not the other way round . Most times when ball is played into space; Xhaka is usually lazy and doesn’t want to really run. You can see it from his body language if u are quite observant of how he plays. There are times those players need quick transition of play but Xhaka usually hesitates. Sometimes I do think he’s a kind of player who wants to play from a stationary position, he doesn’t do well with u passing to him expecting him to change position immediately . Xhaka has improved greatly this season but if he was more light footed, he will be doing exceedingly better than he is currently . |

BlueRayDick:The actually rotate in a circle if you notice. But Nelli is more static. And does unnecessary dribbling by going into corners that two bodies will close him down. Xhaka's last goal shows that if Nelli fixes up with the rotation at LHS, he will be more threatening. |

daveP:Marquinhos is for the future, we don't know how he'll turn out But Jesus, Zinny, Viera, Trossard and Jorginho haven't been bad signings so far(with the only question mark being Viera) I don't know how you'll look at this two windows and call them average. Like Bluerau said, we can't move from 5th and compete for the league and you'll say both windows are average |

daveP:Which kind level unacceptable Amala turning is this ? U asked if we utilized the previous transfer window and i answered we did. U asked for the players we bought that brought improvement to the team and I mentioned them even though I know almost everybody watching arsenal fan knows them and their impact on how far we’ve come this season . Now u are talking something I don’t even understand at all. Did I tell u all the players bought in the transfer window were square peg in square hole? |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by daveP(m): 11:02pm On May 02, 2023 |
Jodera:Just 3 have clicked by long stretch. The rest can't even effect anything else. That is why i called it average. Im not saying i don't recognize the effort. Im on contribution to this success we are currently seeing.. and that is why the squad depth issue is here. That is the angle I'm coming from. Not getting players that will not make one or two injuries felt that much. We have been immense with what's been in our disposal. If we had more, one will imagine what exactly we would have done differently. |

Jodera:I’ve edited my list jare . What i typed was different from what I had in mind . I think it was childish and unnecessary. We are already in a better position , so there’s no need for such bitterness at all |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 11:10pm On May 02, 2023 |
daveP:Martinelli has issues obviously and no need arguing against the fact that he loses the ball at times while executing unnecessary dribble ….. but take ur time and watch Xhaka when next we are playing . It’s not even about whether Xhaka plays with Martinelli or Trossard. Xhaka doesn’t like shifting positions when we are in attack and trying to execute quick transition. He shies away from being in a position he can take a pass and sprint . If u eventually pass to him , he will not move , he will just stay stationary and try to stretch his leg like octopus. He would rather not shift position to take control of the ball . I’ve been watching him do it for years now. It’s one of the reasons he gets red card at times cos when some passes to him and he fails shift position to get full control; he stretches his leg and sometimes kick outstretch leg of the opposing player . He’s improved on it greatly this year, but the thing still dey his DNA |

BlueRayDick:i will check. I feel its cos the rotation thing is not clicking so he maintains a defensive position, esp as Nobody knows if zinny is going to be behind him in the first place. The times Zinny was at his back, look at the final 3rd positions he ended up in. Esp this Chelsea match too. You'll discover Trossard's movement made him take up either the half space or the blindspot. |

daveP:The thing is that the depth this season was for top 4 (esp the summer transfer). If you remember beginning of this season, I laid out our depth and said we've one of the strongest depth amongst our top 4 rivals (with only Gabriel, Partey And Saka not having deputy) . While it wasn't strong enough to compete for the league but I think it was okay to if we look at it from the top 4 angle. Hopefully, this summer we'll add more quality depth and I hope most of our bench will be moved on |
