I was reading a statement from Edo governor Obaseki that unless something quickly is done FG won't be able to pay salaries beyond June.

Well me myself might not totally subscribe to unlimited spending but the cap should be increased in folds.

We can’t be spending so low and then expect accelerated development.

Where will the money come from?
You borrow external debt profile goes up.
You borrow internally debt profile goes up.


So how has what you've said changed anything?

Even in my house, I don't question how high or low spending is. What I question is the value. What value has Nigerians gained from what has been spent to ask for increased spending?

The general fear is that of corruption and opportunity to steal. Besides, increasing spending will mean increasing budget and also increasing borrowing. Our debt profile is very scary.

Our debt profile is one of the lowest in the world at 40-45% of our GDP. Most advanced world has a debt to GDP ratio of over 100%.

What we have is a revenue problem, how to raise revenue and ensure that the revenue is being put to good use.

There’s nothing wrong with borrowing if you can account for what you used the funds to do and a reasonable structure to repay the loans.

The bolded is a very reasonable and convincing thought. But that's the problem.

Whoever will ask for more spending should be able to convince Nigerians and make it open information about what you have stated in the bolded.

For example, Buhari has not convinced me at all with what he has done so far. So why should I trust another APC person?

Isn't the 100K transport allowance? It's a nice gesture, most of these students will be entering the country with little to no cash, and for those that don't have families to fall back on, the #100K would help them do a thing or two before they start finding their feet.

Lol, some of these people na self-sponsored, some of them na state and federal govt scholarships, no be all of them come from boxed-up homes. Some fit even dey hustle for Sudan take cover some of the cost of study.

If that prayer is granted, he knows Atiku automatically becomes the President, SO he is now asking INEC to conduct a new poll of him vs Atiku

Which even if that holds, He will still lose
