Nigerian Doctors In Borno Successfully Remove Arrow Shot To A Girl's Heart (Photos)

Some medical doctors at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital have been applauded for successfully removing an arrow that was mistakenly shot to the chest of a 13-year-old girl, IGBERETV reports.

The arrow fired at the teenager pierced her heart and abdomen. When she was rushed to the teaching hospital, many thought she will not make it alive.

Twitter user, @baqirul_ulum who shared the news wrote;

Kudos to my Nigerian colleagues, we have really brilliant and capable hands, our health sector is just rotten at the top. Many of us who left the country did so because we refused to remain or practice in a mediocre environment. I remember back then, interacting with colleagues abroad at a global health conference in the Netherlands, it made me feel inadequate, thats what prompted me to japa..........But that's not even close to the heart. People need to be enlighten a bit more on things like this. Heart is on the left side, not at the centre of the chest. This simple differentiation goes a long way when someone says "I have chest pain". Left side 🚩🚩🚩, right side 🤨🤨, central 🏴🏁🏴
