It's very easy to blame leaders wheras Nigerians are terrible people

They need to build fire station around that side. Maybe the market union should engage Lagos state fire service to influence how a fire station can be built around that axis.

I was alarmed recently when I noticed a fire station is just being built at iyana oworo bus stop. I find it hard to believe there was none around that axis till now.

I once stayed with a friend whose house is not far from a fire station. Omo Lagos state dey try in aspect of fire service o. Those fire service guys get called almost every night to respond to emergencies ; they can drive out 2.am once they receive distress call.

Funny enough, I blame Obasanjo for the fallout of the sale and reversal of sale of the refinery. Today it looks as if Obasanjo sold the refineries and then Yar Adua just come on board and reversed the same immediately ; well what happened was not as simple as that .


Obasanjo was president for 8 good years, he had access to the best economic advisers , he could see the current situation of things and the foreseeable future; yet he didn’t sell the refineries till he was leaving .

Yar Adua like a typical naija politician would assume saw it as a Greek gift that may mess up his administration that was still in its infancy . Having observed the wide outcry and criticism of the sales and different labour unions promising strikes upon strikes, he had no choice but to make the populist move of reversing the sale.

The identity behind true consortium that bought the refineries didn’t help matters . Dangote, Otdeola’s zenon and transcorp
along with rivers state govt . Most people just saw it as the political class selling off assets of the nation to their friends as croonies.

Maybe if obasanjo had sold it during the middle of his tenure and saw the privatization process through like he did telecoms sector, things might be different now

His wife Beatrice has been sentenced to 6 years and Obinna Obeta a doctor who assisted them was sentenced to 10 years 6 months in prison.

Good point you make but OBJ and Yar Adua were in the same political party meaning there should have been some understanding of the policy of government.

It wasn't like a Biden (democrat) reversing Trump (republican) policy. They were both PDP and I assume OBJ would have adequately briefed Yar Adua.
