The just concluded coronation of King Charles, from what I saw on TV, was a mixture of Christian religion and traditions. An example was the stone of destiny that was part of event. I might be wrong, but that is my opinion. The point I am trying to make here is that, if these people still believe in all their traditions, why are we doing away with ours all in the name of Christianity and Islam? In addition, I have a very strong feeling that, the King's wife Camilla, is not an ordinary human being.

That's an interesting point you brought up. It's true that many cultures around the world have their own unique traditions and beliefs that have been passed down for generations. However, it's also important to recognize that as society progresses and changes, some of these traditions may no longer be relevant or may conflict with newer values and beliefs. It's a delicate balance between preserving cultural heritage and adapting to the needs of the present. What are some of the specific traditions and beliefs that you think should be preserved in our society?

The only people in Nigeria that forsake her tradition for the foreign religion are the northerners especially the Hausas.
Most southerners still retain their traditions

GOs, Evangelist, Pastors and other nigerians might have seen this stone and they would never ask what is a stone doing in a coronation of a king.

Academic crap!

First justify the mix of Christ worship and syncretism brought to you from highest elite circle in England.

The missionaries of England told us here to abandon the stones of destiny bequeathed by our ancestors, they called it devil worship.

Here is Church clerics using same stone to perform ritual for the Head of Church of England.

What do you think of it? Give it some academic spice, instead of questioning modernity in African culture.

The Brits have maintained their culture over the centuries and it's the core of their values.
They modified the christian values of the Roman Catholics to suit their culture and to conquer, colonise and maintain control over their conquered territories.
The King must have performed their cultural Pagan rites and rituals before this public show.

It beats me how many people who claim to be educated are demonising their own traditions and can't see through this charade and clinging dearly to their mental chains.

As long as Africans still believe the nonsense they've fed us about out traditions and way of life over the years through colonisation, Africa will continue to be at the bottom barrel in the global scheme of things..

I'm waiting for one of these our popular pastors to preach how the British version of Christianity is possessed..

Let me cite an example, the Kenyan Catholic Church is more reflective of the traditional African way of worship, there is so much dancing and waving of hands, they have children who stand before the altar to dance during Mass and they are called liturgical dancers, during offertory they dance leading some adults who are carrying offertory boxes and baskets of fruits and vegetables (which symbolizes farm produce) to the altar.

During some special events, Calabashes emittting smoke is in the mix and you see some young ladies carrying it on their heads dancing to the altar like maidens during a procession to a shrine....even when Pope Francis visited Kenya, the Kenyan Catholic Church made sure they showcased the inculturation of the Faith.

One of the most senseless people on earth ar black Africans . In fact that’s why the universe has punished Africans and made them slaves to others.
You called your own tradition evil and followed a book written for you by your slave masters. The book never mentioned any of your ancestors or land but all about foreign people, yet you go to church and cry every Sunday, dance Mumu dance and worship some imaginary dead Jew. Speak Arabic and go to Mekka to bow down to some funny stones

Thank you for your response. It's interesting to see how the use of religious symbols and traditions can differ depending on the cultural context. Regarding the mix of Christian worship and syncretism in the coronation of King Charles, it's important to note that the use of religious symbols and traditions is often a reflection of the history and beliefs of the people involved.

As for the stone of destiny, it's understandable to question why it was once condemned by Christian missionaries in Africa but is now being used in a Christian ceremony in England. It's possible that the perspectives of the missionaries were influenced by their own cultural biases and misunderstandings of African traditions.

However, it's also important to consider the evolution of religious beliefs and practices over time. Just as cultures change and adapt, so do religious beliefs and practices. It's possible that the Church of England has come to see the stone of destiny in a different light than the missionaries of the past.

Overall, it's important to approach these issues with an open mind and a willingness to learn and understand different perspectives.

Some say this was the stone that Jacob rested his head on in the bible.

Anyway the stone was used for Scotland Kings coronation before England took over their country and the stone signifies that whoever ruled England also rules Scotland

Our traditional religion here in the East is still intact. We also mix both Christianity and tradition here. After coronation on Saturday, the king still go to the church on Sunday for Thanksgiving.
