There's no logical explanation that will justify giving citizens access to guns especially the kind of access the US has.

By the way Nigeria law allows for Gun ownership. You can always get a gun licensed in Nigeria legally if you are up to age of forty or you are legally employed or in business. But you are limited to Double Barrel or .22 bird rifles!!! The license is renewed annually.
