It is like asking JAMB to refund your JAMB fee if you do not pass the exam. The standard practice worldwide is that visa application fees are not refundable. A better move would be to ask for the application fees to better reflect the local environment in terms of cost.

U are paying for JAMB to write an exam. This one u are paying for visa to be processed.

Well, it makes sense for countries to ask their legislators make laws that visa application fees should refelect the current reality of things in their local environment as u suggested .

There is a point you are missing. These high fees are deliberate. If you can easily afford the fees, you are unlikely to fail the interview.

There is a reason you don't hear of Nigerians in Yankee doing the rubbish one reads about in India or dubai. The fees have already screened those people out.
