Nazgul: Very straight forward exam questions...if you're a student that's up to date with his/her lecture notes, you'll definitely request for at least 5 extra sheets. Cos I don't see any thing difficult here.
Since we're still on the 25% Abuja issue. If you look at the instructions carefully, According to it, you're expected to answer a total of 3 questions.
They said answer question one AND any other two. Meaning if you answer question one correctly AND fail to answer any other two questions as directed by the lecturer, you'll definitely fail the exams.
Now back to the elections, what this implies is that if a candidate fails to fulfill the 25% votes in Abuja, it means he shouldn't be declared winner cos it's like a student answering only number one question AND leaving the remaining two. This means that the candidate shouldn't be declared winner according to the instructions INEC themselves gave for the election.
Let me respond to your 25% argument. First, in interpreting a statement, you need to acknowledge the context in which that statement was made. In this case, the constitution wants smb that has national spread to be the president of Nigeria. So you cannot be talking of national spread and still at the same time make it compulsory for smb to win a very small section of the country (Abuja) before he becomes the president of Nigeria. Secondly, let’s look at the requirements to be elected as the governor of a state. Why did the constitution not make 25% compulsory in the local government that the state capital belongs to. Thirdly, when you look at this ‘controversial’ section 134, it is a mathematical statement. You people are trying to break the statement into two through the ‘and’. Now, if you argue that the word ‘one quarter’ affects the ‘36 states’ and also ‘the FCT’ independently, why didn’t you say that the word ‘two-third’ also affects both the states and the FCT independently? Which means, according to you, a candidate must score 25% in at least 2/3 of the states AND also 25% in at least 2/3 of the FCT. We all know the truth that 25% in Abuja is not compulsory but some people like you are just looking for loopholes because the outcome of the election did not favor them. 1 Like |

Examine this lecturer's background thoroughly, he is an ISLAMIST. People like the lecturer perpetuate worse crimes in Nigeria. Ekweremadu made silly mistake in travelling to the UK together with his family. I am not defending Ekweremadu. I guess this lecturer's crime to you was using an Igbo man as an example in an exam question. Cos I can't see the correlation of these questions and islamism. Eternal victims. |
