LAGOS- As you hv said, everyone has a choice. Just that i couldn't see myself parting away with 300K , cos that was the last price the lady said she would take from me.

It is not exorbitant, everyone has a choice. Congratulations to you. Lagos or Abuja?

I paid for Visa since January and since then have been searching for interview date, Was lucky to get a date last week Thursday (i.e on the 4th of May) scheduling me for Monday this week (8th of May). Went for my Interview and Luckily for me was asked to pick up my Visa 5-10 working days time. Am so happy i did not go and waste exorbitant money to buy interview date. God wey do my own go do una own to.
Congrats guy. I'd never advise anyone to pay a dime to any agent for an interview date pick. It was really worth the wait..when some applicants are already thinking they're not going to get any date this year at all.
I wonder what the moderator is doing to those agents in disguise here. @ justwise , please help some innocent applicants out of this risky and desperate move.

Interview Transcript?

first of all, you need to know that there are no one cap fit all kind of question pattern, though they always seems to like applicant that have a tie to Nigeria that would make them come back. In my own case, i have been denied severally in the past, 4 times in a roll actually embarassed. My 1st US Visa was issued eventually in 2014 while i did a drop box some time in 2016 to have it renewed. Some how i never bothered going for a Visa again for almost 5 yrs (which was very careless of me, hence the reason i had to go looking for a physical interview date.) Note: God Factor as a major role to play in having your Visa issued cos some people are over qualified by virtue of their status and travel history but yet denied while i saw 1st timers that were actually granted Visa.

We had 3 Interviewer:

1st one was at the extreme right end, - Very wicked guy, Denied over 90% of the people he interviewed.
At the extreme Left - was a lady: She takes too long asking questions but only granted 40% of the people she interviewed Visa.
Then lastly was a Lady in the middle, She doesnt ask too much questions but then granted over 90% of all the people she interviewed Visa. Everyone was aiming for her.
Unfortunately for me, just about 8-10 people to my Turn, the interviewer at the middle stood up and said she needed to go upstairs and she would be back. Omo ! It was as if my village people was at it again.

Not too long another interviewer came to join them in a different cubicle - Pretty grin but mean . all the 5 people she interviewed in my presence she denied. Then came my Turn.

I eventually went for the Lady by the right as i know nothing would make me go to the other 2 (Though you may not really have a choice in selecting who interviews you.)

Questions: 1 What do you want to go and do in US.
Answer: Want to go for my annual leave
Question 2: How long do you intend staying
Answer: 2 weeks
Question 3: Are you going alone?
Ans: Yes
Question 4: Are you married
Ans: Yes
Question 5: Do you have kids
Ans: Yes (Told her number of kids i have)
Question 6: What do you do ?
Ans: I head the Project management office of an IT/Power Consulting firm (Mentioned the company name as well)
Question 7:
How come they are not following you on this trip
Ans: Not on this trip but i intend doing so sometime in the future, I told her i want to avoid been denied like they did to us sometime ago we applied.
Question 8: How come you spent 7 weeks in US last time you visited (Note my 1st trip ever to the US, i spent 2 weeks while the 2nd trip i spent 7 weeks- both in separate issued Visa)
Ans: Was initially going to spend 2 weeks but i eventually had to stay back a bit to perfect my Car bidding License, which took longer than expected.
Question 9: So you mean you sell cars in the US
Ans: No, i bid online from Nigeria ( I reached out for my file and told her i have receipt of Cars have both in the US before.
Questions 10: You mean you have Bill of ladens with you.
Ans: I said no, i only have receipt (Gave her a couple of them so she went through, i also gave her by Certificate of incorporation without asking to prove i own the company.)
Question 11: Do you mean, you travel to US to buy your cars?
Ans: No, i bid strictly online
Questions 12: Is that what you really do ?
Ans: Nope, its just my side hustle - (She smiled)
Questions 13:
Do you have any family in US.
Ans: Nope, not that i no of
Questions 14: Who is sponsoring this trip
Ans: Self
Questions 15: Whats are your artillery
Ans: I intend going to Maryland and also love to Visit Texas(The Texas response almost put me in Trouble)
Questions 15: Why Texas? You have family or friends there ?
Ans: Nope, hv always love to go there someday even while i was younger

She Later said i should go and collect your Visa in 5-10 working days time, giving me an instruction paper on how to collect my passport.
Remember i told you she often takes her time asking questions.
Omo, didnt know when i said God bless you to her. She smiled again

What God can not do does not exist guys, you are next on the list to be favoured.

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dansakimotors: 6:58am On May 11, 2023
Honestly, The baby stands a very good chance of getting the Visa. She could have chosen to have the baby in the US but didn't for whatever reason. That's already a plus for you guys. Depending on the VO questions, She may also chip in this response to the VO, telling him/her that she didn't go much earlier as she was heavily pregnant by the time she eventually got an interview date.

Involve God in the matter and shoot your shot. Your baby chances are very high.

All the best

Hello guys. I’m filling my ds - 160 for BI/B2 visa. My intention is to go to visit a friend in Texas for three weeks. I am currently a graduate, doing my masters here in Nigeria. My dad is in the US, married to mg mom, a citizen, and already filed for the green card but not yet approved. I’m going strictly for visit and I’ll definitely visit them both too. What are my chances for the visa? Do I have to mention that I have relatives in the US? Pls I need advice from those who are experienced here.

If they have filed for green card for you,you cannot apply for USA visa till the filing is approved.I am kinda in the same situation so i opted to try with regular visa.Wait times for that filing is 5 years.Find out from the lawyer that filed for you to get better understanding of the process.

Greetings everyone

I have a quick question;

I've applied for the B1/B2 visa (first timer), and I can see various appointment dates, the earliest being November 28th 2024. I've an exam to write in the US, and I intend to write it sometime in July, 2024.

Should I go ahead and select the nearest appointment available? Or should I wait, hoping that slots will open up soon for a date earlier than Nov 2024?

Hi Iyaboys! I have a quick question about the F4 petition. I am about to file for my brother and I just looked at the priority dates (PD) on the latest Department of State (DOS) Visa Bulletin. The current PD for Nigeria and other chargeable countries is April 2007. I know that F4 usually takes a long time (approx 10 years) but this is showing 16 years. Is this correct or am I missing something from the visa bulletin? Thanks.

@cutelawyer and orekzbaba -- you can travel on a B1/B2 while a GC application is pending. My folks do that all the time. However, sometimes a VO may deny a visa for this same reason. My college roommate from Cameroon who was on a J1 visa went back home to renew his J1 visa and the VO denied his application because he had a pending GC application. His wife won the DV lottery and was processing it in Cameroon. Anyway, he continued with his program remotely for about a year until the DV lottery paperwork was completed and he returned to the US on a GC. My opinion is that while it may not affect some people like my mum, it affected my college roommate. Maybe the different visas (B1/B2 vs J1 and 2yr home requirement) played a role but I do not know. Hope this info helps.

Check with 3 different browsers and always clear browsing history each time. You'd not be easily banned this way and if you're banned on one browser, try another. It's a difficult task but you can achieve it. To enjoy seamless and repeated visit to the cgi portal...

1-Don't bookmark the cgi page.

2-Don't save your login details

3-Always clear browsing history

For the appointment schedules, always check between:

12pm and 12:30pm,
2pm and 2:30pm
5pm and 5:30pm.

You could get one sooner than anticipated, who knows?

Good luck.
