The current minister of transportation says before e-ticketing on Abuja - Kaduna railway, revenue was 50m a month. After introduction of e-ticketing, revenue has gone up to 500m a month. You begin to wonder why they didn’t introduce e-ticketing on the Lagos - Ibadan route before launch. With the crowd I met the day I tried that train, that route should be making nothing less than 700m every month. |

BlueRayDick:Of course there are very corrupt elements among them but they still remain the most feared agency in the country. Even politicians and top businessmen fear them. |

BlueRayDick:Once you have received inflow from a person who has entered efcc wahala, you are in for it. And they will take 50k from you just for being in their office. There were some true horror stories on SM some years back. Breaking and entering into hotel rooms without warrant. Alleged sexual assault. A whole lot of mess The place needs a new head. Someone picked by ribadu. It all starts with leadership. Look at what Marwa is doing with NDLEA. There is no way efcc was not aware of what abba kyari was up to but the guy was doing what he was doing. You also have the casual abuse of power. Most of these security officials sieze assets and convert them for their own use. And they use their powers in personal matters. We were overseeing a project where the contractor was a partnership. The project was not moving despite cash payments. One of the partners was in efcc and the next thing he assessed the bank records of the other partners and found one was diverting funds to pay his daughters school fees. The whole thing was very very disturbing for me, the way the guy casually started accessing his partners records. God help the woman married to a person like that. Or even the friends. |

larride:lolz. Politicians fear EFCC ? Do u know how many of the frontline politicians in Nigeria have EFCC case and they are moving freely ? Keyamo back then as EFCC lawyer lost 19 out of 23 cases , won 2 and withdrew from 2. I don’t think politicians fear EFCC like u are making it seem. I agree businessmen fear EFCC cos they can mess up ur business . Just EFCC red paint on ur building reading “ Possession taken by EFCC 11/05/2023” can ruin ur filling station business, fast food business, Hotel business etc . |

GloriousGbola:Ribadu the politician or Ribadu the administrator ? . It’s like saying Adams Oshiomole should pick a vibrant labour leader because all Labour leaders after him have been pusssies. Ribadu like Oshiomole has crossed to the other side of the divide ; politics . They can’t be trusted to still be the administrators they were before , talk more of handpicking someone like them in their hey days |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 1:49pm On May 11, 2023 |
BlueRayDick:A politician will not fear efcc because at their root, they are incompetent, corrupt bullies. They rely on harassment and intimidation. If you have enough money, your lawyer will make mincemeat out of their poorly prepared cases. Las Las they are trial of public opinion. See as naira Marley used them to blow and catch cruise. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 1:52pm On May 11, 2023 |
GloriousGbola:That’s cos most times they acquire evidence illegally and then try to tender them in a law court as legal. That’s why some of those big yahoo boys with lawyers always walk free |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 1:59pm On May 11, 2023 |
BlueRayDick:Hmm. So where do we put a fellow like Buba Marwa in that case? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 2:11pm On May 11, 2023*. Modified: 2:32pm On May 11, 2023 |
GloriousGbola:Buba Marwa did not leave administration and started contesting for political posts whereby he will owe so many people Favours along the line. I know he’s a card carrying member of APC , but he didn’t contest for the presidency like Ribadu did nor become a governor like a Oshiomole. If he did, he will be owing so many people favours when he got the NDLEA job and he will be having to look away when those people need to step on the law to do their thing. That’s why he’s able to stead on anybody’s toes without caring whose ox is gored . |

As the Supreme Court has held that INEC is not mandated to electronically transmit results from the PUs to the IREV, you have to say that Obi’s petition, on the ground, has no merit now. However, Obi’s strongest case is the fact that INEC’s website has Obi leading in Rivers as against what was declared by the Returning Officer. But with Rivers being the only state with that anomaly (so far), I seriously doubt whether the PEPT and/or the Supreme Court would invalidate the entire election because of one state |

PDPGuy:How exactly is he going to prove it? We know that is truly the case but how will it be proven in court |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 3:05pm On May 11, 2023 |
PDPGuy:The funny thing is that Rivers election result came out very late, almost all the other states was through with their own result before Rivers results was announced. We already knew BAT has won the election before Wike pulled his strong man stunt. That is why till today, Rivers state is the only state they (LP) and it’s supporters keeps pointing to when they are shouting “reclaim our mandate” when election happened in 35 other states and FCT. Whoever thinks Obi has a case in the first instance dey play ni |

PDPGuy:Has always been without merit INEC website is not the source of truth, Its when the entire results has been collated and the results sheet signed Websites can always be hacked or manipulated |

Itsrm:Why are u giving urself headache that belongs to the paid lawyers? it was this same thread we read that Adeleke's case has no merit and that his lawyers were in court to troll, yet Adeleke and his "troll" lawyers won the case eventually. Let's wait and see how the lawyers of LP,APC,PDP and INEC will argue in court and the decision of the judges. We can learn a thing or two from it. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by monerozi5590: 3:26pm On May 11, 2023 |
larride:Our corrupt politicians are leveraging the system ( judicial system). The EFCC sees it as an obstacle in their path but this is democracy, order and rule of law must be followed. DSS went to court for arrest warrant on Emifiele, the court refused to grant their prayers. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 3:34pm On May 11, 2023 |
monerozi5590:That’s because the DSS was fooolish and incompetent in the process of applying for the arrest warrant . The judge explained his reason for denying Emefiele’s arrest warrant below

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Itsrm(m): 3:59pm On May 11, 2023 |
BlueRayDick:Thats the point. Paid lawyers won't bother with the results on IREV because it simply cannot be proven. And as someone else has pointed out, it does not look like its even part of POs petition. There's a reason for that ![]() |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 4:02pm On May 11, 2023 |
monerozi5590:That's because DSS should've either obtained permission to arrest Emefiele from their boss and Emefiele's boss(Buhari) or share substantial evidence with the judge that would've made the judge grant the arrest warrant without waiting for Buhari's consent/permision. Na DSS mess that one up |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by monerozi5590: 4:05pm On May 11, 2023 |
BlueRayDick:Yeah. I saw that. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 4:08pm On May 11, 2023 |
BlueRayDick:The judge made a good point in his No1 point abd the first part of the No2 point, however the second point of the No2 point and the no3 point do not seem reasonable. So the court wants the EFCC to arrest Emefiele BEFORE applying for arrest warrant. ![]() Miracle no dey tire Jesus. Imagine the EFCC that used to carry out illegal and irregular arrests now decided to be law-abiding and get a warrant first, and the judge is castigating them for it. And what concerns the boss of the respondent with the application for the arrest warrant? So if the boss of the respondent I.e the President does not approve the application the judge can’t follow the law? I thought the judges were meant to be independent and there was meant to be a separation of powers? This is just a case of a “shaky shaky daddy” judge who believes there are sacred cows and who didn’t want to step on toes. That No3 point in particular is quite ridiculous. |

larride:No be lie bro, you can ask people who work at Alausa during the time. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 4:16pm On May 11, 2023 |
afrodoc2:The judge saw it as a case of two arms of the executive fighting without involving their boss ( Buhari ) and somehow they want the judiciary arm of government to take sides. The apparent danger in it for the judge is that he doesn’t know who Buhari will be backing between DSS and CBN. The Judge still remembered how Onnoghen left unceremoniously, how apartments of justices were raided by same DSS. So I’m thinking the judge just needed to play that card to let both parties and their boss know he’s not taking any sides for now. If u ask me , I think he made the right decision cos days after Emefiele was seen going around with army convoy to ward off any planned DSS arrest . Nigerian judges are not independent . |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 4:35pm On May 11, 2023 |
BlueRayDick:Your last statement settles it. They are not independent and their rulings are based either on the highest power or the highest bidder. Their decisions are political decisions not legal decisions and they hand down phantom justice. For clarification, does that No3 point make sense to you? ![]() A judge criticising the EFCC for not arresting the respondent FIRST, and applying for warrant later. LMAO. The only good points he made (in a sane society) were that the EFCC did not show him enough reason to believe their case had merit, and to a lesser extent that they didn’t give enough identification to specify the Godwin Emefiele they wanted. Although one can then ask if he wasn’t sure of the Emefiele involved why then was he referencing seeing him on TV with the President, but that would be petty. Lol That judge was focused more on staying out of trouble than delivering justice. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by monerozi5590: 4:41pm On May 11, 2023 |
afrodoc2: . Our judiciary too is corrupt sha. We have seen instances here in the pass where an appeal court judge revealed that a supreme court judge told him to rule election tribunal case in favour of the ruling party. |
