I would have criticized Ugbade for falling short but I remember seeing the pictures of the Eaglets and they were truly young.

I prefer going with real U17 and losing, at least they can improve and win in future...

Rather than going with Uncles and winning the junior world cup, only for the players to hit their peak at 21 and then retire from injuries by 25

Na only this your talk console me....

I wonder how Nigerians tend to have urge for great success and achievements when corruption, impunity, killings, injustice, intimidations etc are the order of the day.......

Until there is sanity in Nigeria....am sorry, Nigeria will always fail woefully in anything her hands touches.....

All this our home base coach are technically not sound just a small under 17 team, you can't progress to semi final yet most of them want to coach super eagles.
The coach is the flop of the match to me.

Exactly my point too. The boys were good but th team lacks cohesion which suppose to come from the coach own input. The boys were all round better than their counterpart but the coach not knowing how to make the team jel caused us this defeat... Bad coach. All they know is taking bribes left and right..

They hit the goal post thrice. My submission is that the team was wasteful in front of goal.

Please stop these money things. We can't be emotional all times. The number12 is my friend son. His dad works in a filling station and the mom sell rice at Zuba spare parts market.

These were xhosen based on merit rich or poor homes. This is a true definition of u17.
because he is lucky not to pay doesn't means others didn't. Next time when such event is about taking place go to their training center and see things for yourself

This team has always won in possession since day one.
They always outplay their opponent
But no finisher, their strikers are always no visible

Nduka Ugbade is not a good coach. I said it from day one. The individual players seemed okay but no cohesion. Playing like headless chicken.

It's their loss, abi na me miss world cup?

The boys gave their best but their undoing was wasting of too many chances and making silly errors.
In the match yesterday, one player's two silly errors led to the two goals they scored against us.
The defender was ball watching in front of his own goalpost until a Burkina Faso player tapped the ball in and the same player went ahead to cause a silly penalty.

Nduka Ugbade is a good youth coach with top notch tactics but he needs to work on his team converting chances to goals. Same with Emmanuel Amuneke.
What do you mean Amuneke

I regret using my gen to watch that match yesterday, the same player responsible for the 1st goal caused the penalty. As for the team generally....those guys were just running around aimlessly all through the match.

exactly, I just pity those Boyz because they won't be able to showcase their talent to the world.
Those local coaches need to go for more coaching courses and understand how to read a game.

The boys tried but signs were der they can't win any tournament. NFF really need to stop all their nonsense of picking players based on money

Is that what happened?

The glory days are gone unless we have young men of integrity in charge of NFF.

Corruption is killing Nigeria football.

Players are usually imposed on the coach instead of allowing the coach to scout for the best players.

Reluctance to invest in training even when money has been budgeted for it.

May God save Nigeria from the cancer of corruption.

I still remember some of the 2007 set, Christiantos Macaulay, Oseyin and dele(G.K).

Lots of players playing with selfish individual intent, no team work, no pressing, or passing the ball to players well placed to put the ball in the net, all of them doing na me wan score goal from 20-30yards from goal. Pathetic

Nduka Ugbade is not a good coach. He couldnt get a decent striker from all over nigeria after scouting Nigeria for more than one year and also he didnt learn from the mistakes of poor finshing at the group stage. shame!
That is a very good observation, all other team have one or two very brilliant true striker (9). Uduka keeps using numerous false 9. which sometimes brings chaos in the box. Another thing I observed was the Nigeria unfortunate factor (caused by evil politicians), you could see it in the boys faces and body language, rather than just playing to develop, and literally enjoying the game, they see it as their last hope to escape and probably take their family out of the untold hardship ravaging every sphere of the country. the outcome of such unecessary pressure was panic and erratic play to prove oneself to the big clubs for signing. Above all, it is obvious the selection was not done on merrit, because a true footballer will always play to enjoy the game, and damn every pressure whatsoever. our Coaches thinks football can be truely learned like road side mechanic, or bid making, never it does not happen that way. there must be an inherent talent (raw) that can now be eched and polished through coaching to a desired state. The only talented Guy in that squad is Abdullahi, and one of the central defender, Olaleye.
The so call Agada will end up as Christiantus, Rabiu Ibrahim and co.

Kai, the loss pain me die - I was rooting for these boys. They all look like my 16 year old nephews.

I am happy we are getting the right age for this under 17 category

If you want real under 17, go to secondary schools or academical. Not those playing in professional league. Anybody in professional league is not qualify to play for under 17

It doesn't work when the coach is not allowed to choose his players including on a match day.

Blaming the coach in today's Nigeria as relating to the Golden Eaglets doesn't cut it. Lots of personal, and regional interests supersede that of National interest.

Let me start my saying and stamping on it that if i have my way in Nigerian MFA....any football coach that wants to lead Nigeria to any major competition must have at least 5years of coaching training in Europe under a reputable coach and mut be certified by the said Leader on merit....enough of compensation ex footballers with coaching job that's rubbish

I watched this guys play at it was obvious they have to coach to groom them on how modern football works

Players taking to much touches on the ball

Crowding regions on the pitch unecessaarily

Poor passing implementation and ability.

Dribbling in dangerous spot wen unecessaary

Forcing the ball and moving the ball without intent

Mr Ugbade and his likes should swallow there pide and go to Europe and learn

He had creative midfielders on the pitch and didn't use them cos they weren't physical...

Since we don dey play robust football ...how many trophies we don win

We can't rule out vested interests when it comes to squad selection but the coach still has veto on the team to prosecute a match. Moreover, the coach plays to the strength of his team.
I like Nduka Ugbade and I want him to coach the SE in future same as Emmanuel Amuneke. I just want both of them to be tactically flexible. Play direct football if the needs be.
