The CRV is overpriced but a good buy for a pensioner. It can definitely be negotiated lower
The cerato is also a good ride but quite expensive to maintain

The Crv Guy Said He Is Not Removing Anything From The 1M. I Like The Car Cos Of The Portable Look And Its Automatic.. The Cerato Is Manual, Thats A Big Minus.

The Honda will be ok for him. If well maintained, is more rugged than the Kia. Availability of parts is also a factor here. Nature of the roads should be considered as well

I have being using the crv in a developing area for the past 4 years ...
.. if the cars isn't abused yet it a very good buy at that's price, just makes sure the engine, transmission, Ac, and steering rack is intact, all others are minor and cheap to replace during maintenance period ...

The car was mistaking built by Honda .... One of the best car honda ever produced...

If you eventually get the crv just make sure you change the ball joint to a Toks and thank me later ...

Don’t touch anything Kia with a 50inch pole
Avoid Hyundai except is it’s “Elantra Touring”

Honda is a far more reliable, economical and durable car compared to a Kia.
Also the Honda is a Mini SUV whereas the Kia is a Sedan meaning it will navigate through rough terrain easily than the kia
The Honda is Automatic while the Kia is manual, which will make it stressful for an aged pensioner to be struggling with.
In my opinion and experience the Honda is the better car amongst this 2cars. Just make sure the engine, gear, AC, ball joints, steering rack are intact all other things like body, interior are secondary.
You can however renegotiate the price.

Look for another Crv 1999-2002. it is a reliable car but this one is too expensive.

Carry mechanic follow body before you pay to avoid stories that touch
Check the mileage

The mechanic should use one particular tool like that to run a scan on the car
Have forgotten the name of the tool

It detects error in a car like the Abs and other things

Stay away from Kia or Hyundai their engines and gearboxes are not well built and trying to fix them might be impossible. Also seems like piston ring and crankshaft engine cylinder head I'm not strong and well-built. The automatic gearbox numerous problems. Are difficult for both of them

CRV my sister used had gear problem twice, but was replaced with Honda Allah gear and it fit fine and worked better

Perhaps cos she was a new driver then and pretty much rugged

CRV and Honda are generally cheaper to maintain

OP pls don't let anybody discourage you that the crv is too expensive for 1m. You cant buy a good vehicle for 700k either. Cars are expensive now that even 1m can't get you a very good car.

Both Cars are okay but would advice you go for the CRV.
