ADC Lagos State Gubernatorial Candidate, Funso Doherty writes a letter to Governor Sanwo-Olu Last week the Lagos State Government went to the financial markets to borrow N100bn - the first tranche of a programme intended to raise N1 trillion. This raises some questions. Here is my letter to the Governor. 19th May 2023https://twitter.com/funsodoherty/status/1659805250381836288?t=-TSwRQRPq7m2F7evDToSrg&s=08

drizslim:Bob Marley said...."emancipate yourselves from mental slavery". That is were the problem lies. It's not just about not being able to feed. Even those that can feed don't see the injustice because they are mental slaves. It's even in hunger that the people have a greater reason to challenge the status quo but mental slavery holds them back |

It is so easy to criticize people in leadership positions until you enter that same position...it is only a person who has ever been in leadership position in a top flight organisation that will understand this! |

America has the highest debt profile on the planet. I hope you get my comparison Apple, Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, Cisco, Intel, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram (Meta), Twitter, Ebay, Amazon, UPS, FedEx, Tesla, Boeing, General Motors, Walmart, ExxonMobil, Costco, Pepsi, Nike ati be be lo dey pay the US government tax. This is excluding their banks, pharmaceutical industries and other conglomerates and its ton of companies that have a global outreach. Does it stop them from borrowing money? Infact, Joe Biden has had to cancel some trips recently because they're battling with their debt ceiling. Lagos is Nigeria's powerhouse and I don't think this current debt can shake us because like the complainant said, our IGR is top notch. |

Government frequently seeks to take credit for significantly increasing the IGR of the state. Beyond this however, the greater responsibility of Government is to demonstrate the benefits that residents have derived from this ever-increasing tax burden borne by them. This responsibility also extends to Government borrowing because the burden of repaying the Government debt will fall on current and future generations through their taxes.

isecurity you can't...
