Buhari does not like Tinubu but for some very selfish and wicked reasons, he prefers him than Obi. Buhari is avoiding Obi, not necessarily because he is a Christian or Igbo man but simply because of who he is. Obi is not just incorruptible, but also prudent, accountable, responsible and competent. These qualities are things Buhari lacks completely.

Should Obi succeed him, his incompetence and maladministration will become very obvious especially when juxtaposed against Obi's government that is very likely going to be competent and accountable. Buhari will become more vilified and posterity will further judge him terribly. So, he prefers someone like Tinubu who is likely going to be like him at best or even worse. Remember what Garba shehu said that Nigerians will look back and appreciate Buhari. Someone like Obi would never be as bad as Buhari talk more of being worse for Nigerians to look back and appreciate Buhari years. But Tinubu certainly fits their plan.

Secondly, Obi will be more likely to probe Buhari's administration. At least, how trillions of borrowed money were embezzled will be exposed. Unlike Tinubu who is part of Buhari's administration and most of the people that is going to work for him already featured in Buhari's government. So, it would just be a continuation of Buhari's government under a different president.

Already, Tinubu is indebted to lots of corrupt politicians who he would have to compensate either through appointments or contracts. On the other hand, Obi does not have such baggage. It is Nigerian masses that would be entitled in his government and Obi would have no option than to perform creditably or lose their support...

If you're educated, informed and logical, you will easily know that Tinubu supporters are either bigots or selfish people. These people don't want Nigeria's progress. As long as they're comfortable, then the rest of Nigerians can go to hell. Buhari, Tinubu, some Fulani leaders etc belong to this school of thought. However, majority of Nigerians, especially the educated, enlightened and business owners/workers who understand what is at stake are backing Obi.

As it stands now, Buhari has done severe damage on Nigeria's economy. If Obi succeeds him, he would be risking his reputation and goodwill because 4 years may not be enough to reverse the damage. However, he would definitely do his best since money or fame is not his motivation. A win win for Nigeria.

As for Tinubu, his primary motivation is to achieve his lifelong ambition of being president. Secondly, to build a family empire. He dangerously mirrors Buhari of pre 2015.

What is currently going on in Nigeria is a crucial fight between good and evil. Between progress or stagnation. Whichever side that eventually wins will have far reaching consequences on Nigeria.

Okay.

Can you now explain why Nigerians rejected Obi?

Though from my side,I rejected him because his incompetence was brought to bear when he was the governor of Anambra state for 8 years.

Elections are over please!

Well meaningful Nigerians are presently planning on towards Asiwaju’s inauguration, and here we are, still wailing on a election that has been concluded.

The Nigerian constitution in motion and a president would be sworn-in. The game is called politics a winner already emerged.

Peter should be planning and strategizing towards 2031 if serious, and with Power returning to the North in 2031, it will be a near impossible dream.

To think that just before February 25th, Buhari and Meffy were the best friends of these guys makes this desperado post by the OP very funny.

Left to me, Obi should give up his current presidential ambition. He is so much a gentleman who shouldn't soil his reputation. The country is already in a mess and would be very difficult to fix. If he eventually becomes president, many people would immediately heave all the woes on him. From day one, the Yoruba press would begin to write articles explaining how Obi destroyed Nigeria absolving the current government. Let the APC government sort things out by themselves

Lol, election is not over because the result is still disputed. Have you wondered why nobody is excited about your May 29?

No longer is looking forward to May 29 except the corrupt politicians and contractors.

Let's even assume that Tinubu is sworn in on May 29, then what? You guys are playing with fire. Something worse than #endsars is coming and it will start from Lagos, Abuja, P.H, Kano, Kaduna and Benin. Cities that never voted for Tinubu!

Let me see how corrupt and incompetent Tinubu will save an economy that is on the verge of collapse. To make matters worse for him, he has no one to blame since he belongs to the previous administration.

I agree with you partially, because he would be risking his reputation and goodwill trying to salvage a severely battered country. However, when I look at the extreme anguish and suffering Nigerians are passing through, I pray he takes over. At least, he has the best chance of turning around Nigeria.

Tinubu will either be exactly like Buhari government or even much worse. Can the masses that are already living on borrowed time survive that?

First and foremost, the accountable and incorruptible man didn't hold LG elections in Anambra for about 7 years, he rendered the third arm of government in Nigeria useIess in Anambra for 7 years, what happened to LG allocations in those years?
Obi represents growth and development, but he is not living in Anambra that he laid his mark of growth and development, he is living in Lagos where Tinubu laid his mark of backwardness.
Obi represents the masses according to you, but made tuition fees in Anambra so expensive that masses are paying through their noses for it.
He represents the masses, but the masses in Anambra don't access to clean water, borehole is a very lucrative business in Anambra, look for more lies, these ones didn't stick before elections, it won't stick even in 2031

Yeah, that used to be my belief. But right now, I can see the country is irredeemable. We are not destined for greatness. That would have been possible if Nigerians were ready to work against the old order which impoverished us and told the citizens to pray to God to send a good and progressive leader. As if God would send someone from heaven to redeem Nigerians. Since we aren't united to turn the country around, no innocent leader should be used as a scapegoat

Infrastructure- Medical, transportation, education

Minimum wage- befitting wage for workers

Security- mediating between warring groups and finding resolutions

Power- He knows the importance and has replicated such before through PPP. Experience will come to okay again.

Innovation- He is a thinker with big dreams

Economy- He has the academic qualification and experience which has been tested over time

FYI, Tinubu is likely going to be a very weak president. He will continually try to impress North. Fix a handful of Yorubas in his cabinet while spewing some Yoruba phrases to give an impression that yorubas are in control. This will massage the ego of bigots.

Unfortunately for him, his vice is from NE which is not influential in the core North. NW, particularly Kano and Kaduna influences North. Tinubu is not popular here except among politicians. Once protests begin in Lagos and Abuja, these cities wouldn't mind joining and coupled with SS and SE cities, it gains national coverage. Tinubu's media propaganda is already dismantled by Obidients so he would become very vulnerable and weak.

Someone somewhere says Kaduna and Kano controls the north.
LOL.
What happened to Katsina?
No protest will happen in the north, the north has made their peace with the election outcome.
It is only u Obi supporters that think u can force him on us.

There is no more fight. Nigerians have spoken loud and clear. They prefer tribal and religious considerations to progress and good governance. The educated, enlightened ones are far smaller in number compared to the stark illiterates. Even among the educated enlightened, many are too sentimental to their tribes and religions to make the right choice. Rather, they will use their education to justify their sentiments

He has no reputation just mere propaganda. Investing public fund in family business is enough to soil his acclaimed reputation including the pandora list saga, if u don't know how and ask.

Imagine this commenter and his question!!!

Obi was not rejected. As a matter of fact, his victory shocked you, your likes and your principal to the bones. Reason the election was rigged. Moreover, that explains why it's a party we were made to believe placed third, that's giving APC sleepless nights. A party that could not boast of a councilor before the election.

Lol. Say what you will. You know the truth deep down. Everyone knows

Are you a psychopath for derailing all threads about Obi. What evidence do you give by quoting a nairaland post of over 10 years without prove?

You don't even mind if there's going to be life after you. Must your generation suffer for life? You should know what's right for Nigeria at the moment instead of your devilish and bigotry inclination.

I rejected Obi because he's a total failure. He's a small fry. He can't turn a kobo to Naira as was witnessed in his 8 wasted years as a govnr in Anambra. He's a very clueless man.
