Of course there is tremendous room for improvement in the south east. We can reduce it to 5 within a decade with better investment in prenatal and post natal care.

South Eastern doctors are trying but there is room for more improvement

SE doctors, who are obviously the best in Nigeria and Africa, should bring down the figures to 5 or below.

It can be done

I think the south south is high because the rural areas are medically neglected. Most medical infrastructures are concentrated in the cities.

Why won't they be better in the east...that region has learnt to grow without waiting for the so called Buhari and his evil representatives.

It's not really about the doctors but about enlightenment and ownership. Come to Imo state, you will see health centers built by collective efforts of communities.

There is definitely a sense of community that helps too. A lot of pregnant women are supported with prenatal facilities built by community, government or private.

It is also about the doctors and a host of other factors.
In Anambra there is a multiplicity of clinics and hospitals built by the state government communities and rich individuals.
Better health care specialists supply, is also a major factor.

Just today, flooded nairaland with a number of health care establishments by the Anambra government, in his effort to counter the usual propaganda from some other region known for false propaganda and hot air
