Some people will still call this vintage to justify the outrageous asking price.

I hear you Chief, many people appear skeptical of the BMW drivetrain platform and I am not really sure why. However, for me the BMW drivetrain system offers very robust, smooth and very reliable drive mechanisms and they are quite cost effective too.

I haven't really had any unusual operational nor maintenance experience since I completed this modification over 3years ago. The overall drive experience is many moons ahead of what I had seen with the 300TDI Diesel Engine and Manual Gearbox that I had in it originally.

You did all these conversions?

Yes indeed I did so. I actually posses the requisite Mechanical Engineering expertise and Certifications to conduct very many challenging Mechanical works/ endeavours.

This land Rover Defender conversions was a personal project and I had not intended to sell it. I have been driving it with the conversions getting to 3yrs now and I have taken it on very long distance drives on many occasions from Lagos to the East and back.

Just good maintenance practices like any other vehicle keeps it happy; regular changes of Engine Oil & Filter and Automatic Transmission Oil & Filter.

But like every other thing in life, problems are inevitable but are always surmountable.

Yes indeed it's been sold for a long while now and I suppose we already discussed over the phone. Sorry I haven't been around here much of late.

I haven't seen any other LRD110 Crew Cab around, I personally converted mine from the standard Station Wagon to that CrewCab format.

So sorry I didn't make a build log nor thread for it, it was just a personal project challenge that I kicked about.

1. I sorted the ECU and Wiring harness by diligent study of several OEM Wiring Schematics from BMW and a little Computer Re-Programing of the ECU to delete functions I did not need, eg, the Engine Ignition Security system, max Engine Rev Limiter, etc.

2. For the Transmission Output Driveshaft, I did a bit of measurements and design in 3D CAD system, produced the drawings and went and sat with a Machinist to get it made.

3. The Engine and Transmissions mounts were locally fabricated insitu based on desired positioning relative to the Chassis and other vehicle components.
