I understand your point, but the truth is that these fares are ridiculously cheap.

My friend's mum came from the SS to Lagos, and i was to take her to her hotel on Airport road. The GIG bus was to drop her at Anthony. I was waiting for her and i negotiated with those old cabs. They said 4k last. I checked Bolt; 1,700.

My aunt came back from Abuja and landed at MM2 around 9pm. Bolt was showing 3k plus to Festac. I was having difficulties ordering so i told her to use those Airport cabs. She paid 9k that night.

Compared to the service, the price is too too low.
I’m not a driver but 3k to Festac is ridiculously cheap.

By my calculations, no way. This is what I have on my bolt App.

If he picks him at 7am and they return by 3pm, total time is 8 hours or 480 minutes. At 13 naira per minute charge, the amount is N6,240. By the time you add for the actual distance covered, he will be lucky to earn 10k on bolt.

Except the charges per minute in Lagos is double that of PH

I have never seen any Uber driver that is willing to wait for 1 hour for you online. grin

If paid waiting was worth it, people for dey readily accept such offers

Please try and create a fleet.

If you make 60k a week, give it on rentals for 50k.

Broker deals with organisations, especially in market places. You can cut a deal with the sales person that he would get some percentage if he let you pick orders for his customers.

This is much better than Uber, bros. The only thing is the risk....But God dey
There’s man that does this, he’s a rider and has a few other bikes too. All he does is computer village pick ups
That man isn’t even small 😅😅😅 he makes mad money every day just yesterday he took a charger from my store to ilupeju for 2k and this wasn’t the only item he took to that area because he told me he was going towards the area these guys makes good money from
Dispatching

I have not driven for two weeks now, I decided to drive today, after just two trips and endless waiting under the sun for trips, I went home. I don't know how you guys are doing it but the winter period is lasting longer than expected for me. last month a rider tipped me 1k5 after seeing the low fare he was asked to pay. even some riders know that the fares without surge are poor.

Too poor. This thing about those cab at the airport is true. From Mm2 to Egbeda they charge me 7k but I bet you bolt won’t even charge me 4K

For where?

Even 10 minutes self he would have started grumbling cheesy

That's why I was surprised reading that Bolt would have given a driver more than 18k. Had to bring out my calculator to confirm

No, it won't be 3k. It will be 12k. You know 12 plus 6k makes it 18k which is the same amount that the cab man charges cheesy

With the way you guys move Lagos, you change brake pads in 6 months?

Wonderful

Some of us drive our own cars only on weekends. We don't change pads like the full-time guys.

I see them in markets naa grin

The money those guys make on a good day is the net earnings of a Bolt driver in two days

Imagine netting 15k with enough time to sleep under a tree.

Those babas that are complaining that Uber has spoilt their businesses. You'd think it's easy for people who can stay for hours or even days without seeing a good offer.

I drive full time, I don't change pads monthly. The front pads that came with my car lasted from June 2021 to January 2023, Rear pads I changed them in August 2021, it's still serving.

P.s I use toks brake pads.

Prof Pope, what secret are you talking about?
Stating price differences between bolt and the airport cabbies or what is it exactly?

Agbado has terrible road thanks to the docility of ogun state successive governments. It is worse during raining season bc of the muddy roads. 08067937074 I am still available to drive on bolt with 30k remittance weekly and I reside around Ojodu Berger axis.

Just imagine this one so you have to pull down a brother just to sell yourself? That alone as disqualified you already.

Like how could you do that? You condemn where a fellow hunter stays yet the area where you live is not good either

To you easttig and Deypray where do you guys reside? In heaven abi or you live in the USA. Show me one LGA in Lagos with100% good road without an untarred road, show me one.

Why do we have this pull down syndrome in this part of the world? Why?

I was thinking it will be more like "try it and see for yourself" then u wouldn't have to argue what it could be or could not be. U will be able to tell us with certainty how much a trip from only God knows where that Bolt drivers refuse to enter to LUTH from 7am to anytime u return will be.

I think my view is open enough. The airport cab took you to your destination, but what happened next, you don't know. Bolt driver may take same for 4k and his next trip will land him 12k. We never can tell, there's no absolutely being sure about the next move in this business. As a driver, just set your priorities and you will be fine.

NB : not a prof, just feel one can make something out of nothing boss.

Exactly. You made my point. Even those who drive full time don't change pads monthly but he made it seem like people pay huge sums for car maintenance weekly!
