shutup there.... he was invited by bbc and asked some questions, then he replied...

besides, uk govt has been planning on limiting african immigrants before... so that man is not the cause of them banning you from packing all your family members into their country through student visa thereby constituting nuisance there at the end of the day... cool
Calm down bros. Yes UK probably has been planning to limit immigrants. But the reason most people are mad at the guy was that he said Nigerians are not coming to the UK for studies. He generalized it. That's not true. Many Nigerians are in the UK genuinely for studies. He shouldn't have generalized it. In America or UK, the most educated blacks are Nigerians

Stop fooling yourself or attempting to con others. They are migrating. As simple as that and I know many personally over-exploiting the UK's desperation for foreign investment of cash to Japa with their family.

If it is for studies, then why not be like the Chinese who were granted 11,000 study visas and only brought 400 dependeants?

The statistical reality logically support the fact the Chinese want to gain a masters degree, usually a year, and go back hence the reason they bring very few dependants.

Nigerians granted 34k visas brought 32k dependants. To any averagely smart person, why bring so many dependants for a study program lasting a year if your intention is to gain useful educational accreditation you wish to go back to your Country to utilise?

It will not be difficult for the thinking man to conclude the Chinese genuinely come to study and return, with how so many reject bringing dependants along with them, whereas Nigerians bring dependants almost equal to the number of those granted post grad Visas because it is about economic migration for them and not further studies..

99% of Nigerians use the UK study visa route to japa permanently. Stop fooling yourself. Nigeria would be better if we tell ourselves the truth and then move to address our problems sincerely.

Lying you do not not have a problem, when it is obvious you do, is the main reason Nigeria remains underdeveloped. It is like the whole 'one Nigeria' garbage.

Who are we fooling with that nonsense we then follow up with the hollow rhetoric that "Nigerians are equal and one" when even our departing President showed it is not so with his unapologetically biased and pro-Fulani leadership?

We could easily accept we are biased and , on some level, hate and discriminate against each other. The next move, as a smart people, would then be to checkmate the potential abuses, stemming from ethno-religious and sectional bias against others, with the delivery of systems that prevent the most biased and bigoted from harming Nigerians they despise because they have prioritised favouring their own above everything else..

We could introduce State or regional policing, full of well-Trained and patriotic indigenes who know the terrain, to halt State-backed promoters of terror in their track.

Yet we won't do that and everyone will daily talk about a reform of the NPF that has not happened for decades now.

Those who do not admit having a problem will never gain solutions.

Can some of you now see what some of the more enlightened posters have been saying from the start of this post while you tribalistic and hateful Nigerians are blaming yourselves over one individual words?

A situation of casual exploitations (UK) of thousand aided by their failure at home by misrulers (Njgerian leaders) now turned into the witch hunt against one man because Nigerians are so tribalistic and hateful to the extent thwy prefer going after each other than those who are the real cause of their problems.

Words if one individual , in the grand scheme of things, that mean nothing because, as I personally stated earlier on this thread , the UK is not an innocent victim ignorant of what was going on.

The fact is that encouraged and devised it as an economic reprieve. They are cynically using your 'Japa' deseperation to bolster their heavily constricted and growth-confined economy.

Words from the Horse's mouth below. Hope some of you learn so we can try and build our own proud and respected nation instead of abandoning Nigeria to become a 'Japa' sick child the entire world want to exploit for money, resources or migrant skills.

Thanks to Nigerians, Japa has made it into the world's urban dictionary.

Japa: It’ll hurt our economy, MP condemns UK’s ban on families of foreign students

By Miftaudeen Raji

A member of the United Kingdom parliament, Carol Monaghan, has condemned the UK’s new immigration policy, which banned international students from bring family members with them from 2024.

Recall that UK Home Office, on Tuesday, also announced that foreign students would be stopped from switching from the student visa route to a work visa until their studies have been completed.

But, reacting to the immigration policy at parliament on Wednesday, Monaghan said the students and their families made valuable contributions to the UK, contributing £40 billion to the economy in 2022.

Bro this your long story is BS. Read carefully what I wrote. He guy generalized it that Nigerians are there not for studies. That's not true for everyone. Also, what is wrong if people bring their family over? What is wrong if people migrate? Was it against the UK law? No.
Are Nigerians the only immigrants? Or you think people from America don't move to permanently live in UK?

You made mention of China. Can you compare their economic to ours. Can you compare their government to ours? Is Nigeria even a real country?

Don't tell me about building Nigeria together. If anyone has the capacity to leave Nigeria, let them leave. Nigeria is not helping talent. Why waste your life when there is an opportunity to leave and as well help others to leave?

If all the talents can leave, let them leave with their family. Nigeria is not a real country.
